I bought the Sportline 8089 at a local Goodwill. It was on sale for $4.00. I had trouble setting the time. I wanted to know how to do that, and what it cost new. However the next morning both time settings were askew and you wanted a photo of the time piece.Apparently it is a discontinued model. It was junk. Thanks anyway.

mcdevito75 here, I see in your question, SOLAR if that means the watch is operated from the sun"s energy, you first have to get the watch going (ticking) before you can set the time, Instead of a Battery your watch has a capacitor that holds onto the sun"s energy and releases it, makeing the watch go (tick). After the watch goes, you need worry about 2 buttons, MODE & SET. Press MODE and see display Flashing, now press set to set each function, (hour, minute etc.) presss MODE after ecah function is set to move on, once all functions are set, press MODE for steady display, also if thew watch is new, look for a small piece of plastic just under the crown, remove that plastic and push crown down to start watch. In checking out information about my new S7 ECG Heart Rate Watch, I noticed your posting. There is a Sportline website that enables you to down the product manual.... although I'm not sure it pertains to the S7. If this doesn't work, I'm sure there is a manual included with the watch I just received, and I'd be happy to email to you. On the C9 Fast Wrap Strap digital watch, press and hold the "LAP/RST" button until the display shows "SET" then release. Use the "MODE" button to switch between second, minute, hour, etc. Use the "ST/STP" button to change. Press and release the "LAP/RST" button to exit. The Sportline might be the same or similar.

If its digital that makes it more difficult to give setting directions online. Need to know the exact model #. I would do a google search to try and find your watch and you might find a manual online. OR you could seek out a local watch repair business and they should be able to set it with no problems. Most Sears have a watch repair kiosk in their stores! I woudlnt take it back to Walmart because they are just sales people! They have limited watch knowledge!

I just bought a Sportline 241 last week. The instructions are as follows. Note that there are no instructions for setting the 12/24 hour time option. Mine is in 24 hour mode (which is what I wanted), but I do not recall if it arrived that way or if I stumbled onto this mode when setting the time/date or alarm functions.

TO SET TIME AND CALENDAR:
From normal time display, press MODE button three times to enter Set Time/Date Mode. Seconds is automatically selected.
Press SPLIT/RESET button to cycle through minutes, hours, day, month, day of week, seconds.
Press START/STOP SET button to change digits on any of the above (seconds only: resets to 00).
Press and hold START/STOP SET button to advance digits rapidly.
Press MODE button once to return to normal time display.
From normal time display, press and hold START/STOP SET button to see the month, day, and day-of-week.

TO SET ALARM:
From normal time display, press MODE button twice to enter Set Alarm Mode. Hours is automatically selected.

From normal time display, press and hold SPLIT/RESET button, then repeatedly press MODE button to arm/disarm hourly chime sound.
Chime will sound when dashes appear along top of display.

STOPWATCH OPERATION - GENERAL:
From normal time display, press MODE button once to reach stopwatch timer display.
After use of any stopwatch feature, press MODE button once to return to normal time display.

START-STOP (TIME-IN/TIME-OUT) TIMING:
With stopwatch timer on display, repeatedly press START/STOP SET button to start or stop the timer. When timer is stopped, press SPLIT/RESET button to reset timer to 0.

SPLIT TIMING:
With stopwatch timer on display, start the timer with START/STOP SET button. Repeatedly press SPLIT/RESET button to split or release the timer. Press START/STOP SET button to stop the timer. Press SPLIT/RESET button to reset timer to 0.

1-2 FAST FINISH:
With stopwatch timer on display, start the timer with START/STOP SET button.
Press SPLIT/RESET button for STOP #1.
Press START/STOP SET button for STOP #2. The stop time for #1 will now be shown.
Press SPLIT/RESET button. The stop time for #2 will now be shown.
Press SPLIT/RESET button to reset the timer to 0.

With the watch in time mode, press and hold the mode button for 4 to 5 seconds until it beeps and the digits start to blink. Then press the mode button again to advance through each setting. When finished press and hold the mode button to exit the setting mode.
