Add and register a handset
Each newly purchased handset must be registered to the telephone base before use. When first purchased, each expansion handset shows NOT REGISTERED.
You may need to charge the phone first.
To register a handset:
·Place the unregistered handset in the telephone base or charger. Press Find for 4 seconds. If the headset screen doesn't light up after the 4 seconds. You will need to charge it some more.
·After making sure it is charged set the telephone on the main base again press and hold the Find button for 4 seconds ( until the red light IN USE comes on) Then release the find button. The headset will show PLEASE WAIT; this takes about 10 seconds to complete the registration. The hand set will show HEADSET REGISTERED and the headset number assigned, you will hear a beep when the registration is finished
·When the registration is complete, the newly registered handset is assigned the next available handset registration number. For instance, if you already have HANDSET 1 and HANDSET 2, the next registered handset is HANDSET 3.
·Makes sure no other headsets are in use at the time or the registration may fail.
·You cannot register a handset if any other system handset is in use. Only one handset can be registered at a time.
Here are the steps: Press menu, then press *883247# and then press the up arrow. Select deregister and then unplug and take the battery out for 10 seconds. Plug the phone back in and it's ready to be registered to another device.
Please try the following procedure to register the handset:
Place the unregistered handset in the telephone base. If PRESS FIND HS 4 SEC ON BASE does not appear on the handset screen after a few seconds, remove the handset and place it in the telephone base again.
On the telephone base, press and hold FIND HANDSET for about four seconds (until the red IN USE light on the telephone base turns on) and then release the button. The handset shows PLEASE WAIT... and it takes up to 60 seconds to complete the registration. The handset shows HANDSET X REGISTERED (X represents the handset number assigned) and you hear a beep when the registration completes.
When the registration is complete, the newly registered handset is assigned the next available handset registration number. For instance, if you already have HANDSET 1 and HANDSET 2, the next registered handset will be HANDSET 3
menu *7890# Test handset select arrow down to "Next Page..." select Regstr Clear select select again (Reg Clear ?)
You get "OK"
Off Off (you're backing out of the whole menu) Off Off (You now get "Out of range or no pwr at base"
Pull the battery Replace the battery (you now have an unregistered handset)
Thank you, this worked for me and I can now register my old handsets from my lightning struck base to my new base, (of a different model, but it still works.)
Try this, Push and hold the "End" key, while still pushing the "End" key push in the "#" key and hold both keys till you hear a beep. The LCD display should now say "De-register Handset" and under that "Base Unavailable" Select Base unavailable. The LCD should now say "Handset not registered, place in base" Just set it in the charging cradle on the base unit and it should register to the base.
Normally , one base can register 4 hanset in EEPROM setting. The model, Maybe you can try press the "page" key, then plug the power cord , after 5 to 6 second , release "page" key. Try to register handset again.
1. First, remove the battery cover on your unregistered TCX905 and look
under the battery to confirm that you indeed purchased a TCX905 because
some Uniden handsets were packaged as 905's but were not.
2. Take the fully charged unregistered 905 to the base unit TRU9496.
3. On the TRU 9496 base unit press "Menu" then select "Registration" and press OK
4. You should get the message "press the # key on the remote handset".
5. Depress the "#" key on the unregistered 905 and it should register.
1. try to reset handset. try sw reset in the manual .
2. try to clear the base. unplug power cord, press and hold "page " key , and plug the power cord , after 5 to 6 second release page key.
3. Register again.
4. If there is still searching , open the base and handset, to check ,if the antenna is broken or not.
IF YOUR HANDSET WAS WORKING AND THEN STOPPED WITH "UNREGISTERED": If lowercase unregistered is in main display and a reg. appears under the left soft key: Press the left soft key below REG. and then press and HOLD the button on the top of the base station until the two indicator lights on top of the base station turn off. Wait until handset signals with beeps and registered. You are done
