They usually have a clip that swivels across. Perhaps the screw came out.

It goes in the face of the bobbin and keeps tension on the latch of the bobbin so that it doesn't fall out.

Put bobbin in holder. Thread properly. Pull out arm on bobbin which holds spool in place and gives u a handle. Place into position. Turn slightly so it fits into appropriate slot. Let go of arm. That's it. Good luck.

THE BOBBIN MUST BE PUSHED IN UNTIL IT IS LOCKED IN. THE BOBBIN CASE (WHERE BOBBIN GOES) HAS A METAL OUTSIDE WITH TWO LITTLE HOLDERS THAT YOU MUST TURN TO HOLD IT IN PLACE.

the bobbin case needs to be checked to see if it needs to be replaced
and also checked the hook and hook race.

the machine needs to be checked to see why thats happening
cause the bobbin case isn't suppose to do that

if the hook & hook race are not in the machine stationary then the machine needs to be check to find out why there not staying in there position
& since the machine hasn't been used in years it needs to be serviced
