The smoke is coming through the drum, but I'm afraid you burned out the motor. Perhaps the main motor, perhaps the pump motor.
You only can find out, when looking inside. When you don't have the skills please don't do this yourself. It can cost you your fingers or your life if you make a mistake while opening the machine.

You can try and fix it your self, it sounds like to me the main drum bearing at the back of the drum has gone bad, it all depends if the parts are available and you are up to tearing the unit down to fix it.

It can be the motor, the capacitor to the motor, the valve, pump or the control board.
in all these cases the observation and inference will be related to your view.
MAke sure that the power is disconnected before you probe into , smelling for the burnt item.
