How to steam milk

Here are some possible reasons why the milk steamer flow is diminished and steam is not coming out of the bottom of the machine:

Clogged steam wand: The steam wand might be clogged with milk residue, which can restrict the flow of steam. Try cleaning the steam wand with a damp cloth or a pipe cleaner.

Faulty steam valve: The steam valve might be faulty or damaged, which can cause a decrease in steam pressure. In this case, you may need to replace the valve.

Blocked milk frother: The milk frother might be blocked with milk residue, which can prevent the milk from frothing properly. Try cleaning the milk frother with a damp cloth or a pipe cleaner.

Faulty milk frother: The milk frother might be faulty or damaged, which can cause a decrease in milk flow and prevent proper frothing. In this case, you may need to replace the milk frother.

Sounds like milk steam apparatus is clogged. Try to disassemble this portion and clean thoroughly. Descaling will not help this section.

You have clogged milk pipework, likely caused by not rinsing/cleaning the pipework after dispensing milk. This has happened to me a few times and we have had Miele out to fix it. Only they can unscrew the unit to look inside and repair can be expensive. Today, I found a solution I wanted to share!
Remove the front cover off the spigots so you can clearly see the nozzles where the milk runs out. Run a rinsing program on the unit, and it will emit steam and hiss and nothing will come through. That is OK for now. Using a balled up towel, plug the side where you are only getting steam coming through. You are essentially causing pressure to build up in the pipework which will dislodge whatever is blocking the system. Careful, as steam will penetrate the towel as my little burnt finger will tell you. The second time I did it, I pressed the towel into position with a spoon....works like a charm and no burnt fingers. Both sides were blocked for me and now run smoothly. Hope this helps someone ;)

Steamer tubes can get plugged up with dried milk and/or calified water deposits in the tube.
With the machine unplugged, turn the tube up to check it, Clean it with a small guage wire.
Soak it in a small cup of vinegar, if needed.
Further cleaning, you can add a bit of vinegar to the water and steam it thru...

Check the end/nozzle of the steam wand, if you open the wand and while getting nothing it is hot, then the nozzle is blocked use a paperclip to clear the hole at the end of tip. If you have done this already and still no steam then it is clogged where the steam valve connects to the boiler.

I have the same problem as well, talked to a repair shop and it's definitely a "send in" or warranty repair. I was told it's an o-ring issue. I have no water coming out of the steam wand and it goes into the dispense tray instead.

This could be blocked. The best way to clear this is to switch off the machine and see if you can dismantle the frother arm. Sometimes the arm will come off by unscrewing. If it does, wash it in hot water and washing liquid. If it doesn't come off try putting the frother wand into a mug of cold water and allow it just to steam the water.
Frother wands don't just steam liquids - they **** up liquid which can block the vents and the actual steam hole which this machines' problem sounds like it does have.

Try this, the valve diagram shows that you twist the knob, but you left it up and down to adjust the flow. You could also check that the container you have the milk in, is lower in height than the cappuccinatore to help it siffin the milk up from its container. Make sure the cappuccinatore is fitted correctly pushed in fully and half fill a cup with milk and pull the valve adjuster up a small amount and push the button. It should start pushing steam out the cappuccinatore and then within a few seconds it should start siffining milk up the tube.

I don't know about the burning business but I had the same problem with the steam wand. the first thing I did to solve this problem was to take small object like a needle or safety pen and insert it into the base of the steam wand. (I have feeling that most problems related to the steaming wand are due to deposits clogging the wand itself.) After I cleared out as best I could I used vinegar and water to help remove any calcium deposits. Sure enough, after inserting the needle into the wand steam began to flow again.

I just had this same problem and solved it.  It was due to a very small amount of milk residue on the inside of the black frothing unit (the one with the dial which lets you choose foam or no foam).  Grip the dial firmly and pull it out while twisting. It may take a few seconds to twist and pull it out.  I had a very small spec of milk residue in one of the crevices on this piece.  Quick clean with a toothpick and plenty of hot water, reassembled, and it works perfectly.  Hope this helps someone.
