Try unplugging the set from its power source, let it sit for 10 minutes and then plug it in again, then turn it on. Are you getting any on-screen messages or logo display when you turn it on? Is there any backlighting showing? (in a dark room, the screen should have a faint glow). Try switching the input source using the remote. If the set is less than a year old, it is under warranty. If nothing is displayed ever on screen, the panel might need repair or replacement.
The green ligh goes on and off..no remote for it..and tv like 3 or 4 years old
If there is no remote, look for a control on the side bottom or back that says source. This presumes there are more plugs on the back of the set to plug things like DVD players into. Does the set glow faintly in a dark room when it is on?

If it is a LCD TV, and there is a faint picture, it is probably the backlight or inverter board (probably the latter). This is a common problem (especially with PC monitors).
Do an internet search for your model and inverter, you may be able to replace it.
Make SURE you REMOVE the power lead before opening the set !!!!

This set has LG insides, it will have failed on either the Y-Sustain PCB or the Z-Sustain PCB.
Quite common.
Repair estimates should be $250 - £350 depending on which has failed.
Stick it on eBay, it will fetch good money faulty.
