I have a Coleman powermate vantage 3500 it would start up fine and run for a hour then just die like you shut off the fuel, go and restart it and it would run prefectly for a hour. Also I need pn# for the for the fuel neddle valve on the top of the carb. I know the threads are 0.5 metric the powermate model#pco473503 serial# 72451247 and the #s of the brigs engine are model#115432 type# 008101 and code#95082848

SOURCE: generator will start and run easy, then just die.
Check for loose wiring connections, especially at the run or kill switch. Generators vibrate a lot so it could be as simple as something loose.

This sound like a loss of residual magnetism in the generator. The field will need to be "flashed".This is also known as re-exciting the field of the generator.
The Coleman manual gives these steps:
1Use a 6 Volt lantern batters (dry cell) or a 12 Volt automotive battery.
2.Disconnect all loads from generator.
3. Remove the brush cover (that's the rectangular plastic cover on the end of the generator.)
4. Plug a lamp or light into the generator before starting the engine. The light will illuminlate when ?Voltage has returned.
5. Start the engine with no load connected to the generator.
6. Attach the "-" lead of the battery to the negative brush. Very briefly touch the "+" lead of the battery to the positive brush. Remove as soon as Voltage builds up.

Cleaning the carb bowl is not enough make sure you pull out the main jet and clean it out real good. If it starts with starting fluid then it is definitely a fuel problem.

Pull the spark plug and see if it is wet or smells of fuel. If not, then may have issue with the carburetor, fuel filter, float, etc. If plug appears fouled, replace the plug with new one correctly gapped. I have found that one can put an UNLIT propane torch into the carburetor and try starting. The propane won't flood the engine and can give an indication if the ignition is working. If the engine tries to start on the propane, then carburetor work is in order. Usually a problem with the float. Fuel filters and the embarassing thing of forgeting to turn on the fuel valve are farther down the list.
