When you did this did yo get the message that it was uninstalled?
Symptom
You want to uninstall K9 from a Mac computer.
Solution
Note: You must have administrator rights to uninstall K9 Web Protection.

  1. Open the [System Preferences] panel.
  2. Click the K9 Web Protection icon under the "Other" section at the bottom.
  3. Click the [Uninstall] button.
  4. When prompted, enter your K9 administrator password and click [OK].
  5. You will then be prompted to enter your Mac administrator password.
  6. When the uninstall process is complete, you will receive a message saying K9 has been successfully uninstalled.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNINSTALL K9 WITHOUT A PASSWORD. By design, K9 will block all web access should anyone attempt to uninstall without using a password. Attempts to modify K9 at the system level will have the same effect.

HOW TO DELETE K9 AND IT IS SO ANNOYING ME WHAT CAN I DO PLEASE HELP ME I WANT TO GO ON THINGS BUT I JUST CANT I NEED SO MUCH HELP SO PLEASE HELP IT WILL BE SO GREAT NOT TO HAVE IT

Make sure you are connected to the internet before uninstalling K9 so your license is properly released. If this is not possible, you can continue to uninstall, but you will need to request a new K9 license if you choose to reinstall K9 in the future. Also, please make sure you are logged into your Windows Administrator user profile. Attempting to uninstall K9 from any other user profile than "Administrator" will not work.
  1. Click [Start].
  2. Click [Control Panel] (Note: if you cannot see this option, it may be under[Settings]).
  3. Open [Programs and Features] (Note: This will be called [Add/Remove Programs] in Windows XP).
  4. Locate Blue Coat K9 Web Protection in the list of programs and click once to highlight it.
  5. Click [Change/Remove].
  6. Click [Yes] when you are asked whether you want to completely remove K9. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNINSTALL K9 WITHOUT A PASSWORD. By design, K9 will block all internet access should one attempt to uninstall K9 without using a password. Attempts to modify K9 at the registry level will have the same effect.
  7. Enter your K9 Administration password and click [Uninstall]. If you forgot your password, click the "Forgot Password..." link to have a temporary password emailed to the email address on file.
  8. When prompted to reboot your computer, click [Yes].
After rebooting your computer, K9 will be completely uninstalled.

Hi im anthony and i had bought a laptop from a guy and it has k9 web protection on it and im tryn to get it took off can u pleasde help me

there are two methods you can try.
Method 1
If you have the administrator account password for the local computer and the best way to uninstall K9 web filter from the local computer is to re-install it! Re-install k9 web protection will simply get you a new license code and a new password you can enter without the need of old password.
1.Open K9 web protection website 2.Click "get K9 NOW" tab on the top-left 3.Fill out the information and your email. 4.Download the K9 Web protection software from the link included in the email and keep a copy of the license. 5.Grab a version of the K9 web protection installed on your computer, a Google search should do the job. 6.Open "Task Manager" by press (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and end the process K9filter found in the "Process" tab. 7.Now, you can safely delete the K9 web protection program files. Open computer explorer and go to the folder where K9 is originally installed. It can be found mostly at C:\Program Files/Blue Coat k9 Web Protection. 8.Remove the contents of the folder but not the folder. 9.Run the K9 web protection setup/installer file which has the same version as the one you just delete 10.Provide the license and create your new password 11.Point the installation folder to the same folder you just empty the contents earlier on 12.Now you can have a re-installed K9 web protection with a password you know. How do you uninstall K9 web protection now? Use the new password you just created If something goes wrong, install the K9 web protection program downloaded from Step 4.
Method 2
Reboot Windows into safe mode: restart your computer and hold "F8? key until you see the menu to choose "Safe Mode" Login to windows and go to "Program Files" directory and delete the K9 folder manually (delete only the contents but leave the folder) Click "Start"->"Run" and type "msconfig" Check the tab "Services" and tab "Startup" Un-check anything that is related to k9 If somehow this method is messed up, try to download K9 again to at least restore your previous installation. If this still does not work, try to install Revo Uninstaller.

Hi, I've recently installed k9 but i have forgotten my password and since then my email account has been hacked so i can't get it sent to another one, is there a password i can use to unistall it? ...

Heya

K9 web protection cannot be uninstalled without password by the windows utility as it has limited access. Now what you can do is use REVO UNINSTALLER software. The following is the link for downloading the setup file-:

http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-professional-version.php

After downloading the setup file install it.Now as soon as you open the revo uninstaller it will show you all the programs installed. Now select K9 web security and then it will give you four options.Select advanced uninstaller and click on next (this might open windws uinstaller again and might ask you for a password as well but just click on cancel).Just after this it will show a screen to delete all the files of k9 from your hard drive and also from your registry.Select all the files and click on delete all. Some of the files might not delete but as soon as you restart the computer K9 will be out of your computer.
Basically it will not uinstall k9 but will delete all the files from your computer and the registry as well.So if there are no files of k9 in the registry that means its out of your computer.

This is a guaranteed solution but i hope your not a minor who just wants to watch ..you what i mean..
well anyways goodluck

I got this computer from my grandmother because myn melted literally. But she downloaded k9 web protection and had it on the highest security setting there is.it only allows facebook and certain other...

I found this on superuser link at the bottom.
No third party software required. Tested with K9 Web Protection version 4.4.268 on Windows Vista SP2 (32-bit). Confirmed by @stiemannkj1 to be working on Windows 7. Should also work on Windows 8.x.
  1. Create a new text file. Copy and paste the following batch script code, then save:@echo off set keys=^ "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Blue Coat Systems"^ "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\k9filter.exe"^ "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Blue Coat K9 Web Protection"^ "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\bckd"^ "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\bckwfs" REM remove registry keys for %%G in (%keys%) do reg delete "%%~G" /f >nul set folders=^ "%programfiles%\Blue Coat K9 Web Protection"^ "%programdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Blue Coat K9 Web Protection" REM remove folders for %%G in (%folders%) do rd /s /q "%%~G" set files=^ "%windir%\System32\drivers\bckd.sys" REM remove files for %%G in (%files%) do del "%%~G" pause exit /b
  2. Make sure file extensions are shown and rename it to RemoveK9.cmd (or whatever you like, as long as it has the .cmd extension).
  3. Restart Windows in Safe Mode.
  4. Right-click the .cmd file and select Run as administrator from the context menu. Wait for the batch script to finish.
  5. Start regedit.exe and navigate to the following registry key:
<code>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_BCKD Right-click the LEGACY_BCKD key and select Permissions from the context menu. Click Advanced and select the Owner tab. Then select Administrators from the owner list, tick the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects option, and then click OK. Then select Everyone and tick the Allow checkbox for the Full Control permission. Click OK, right-click the key and finally choose Delete.

  6. Restart Windows.

Uninstall k9 without a password

try this instructions:

This is a totally safe way to remove k9 web protection without a password 1.) Go to http://www1.k9webprotection.com and click on the "get license" tab on the left 2.) fill that out and get the license from your email address 3.) In the email there will be a link to download k9 or just type this into the address bar http://www.k9webprotection.com/download/k9-webprotection.exe You'll need this to reinstall k9 just incase you mess something up 4.) Download an older version of k9 web protection I used K9 Web Protection 3.2.36 which you can download from the following link http://www.shinedownload.com/software/K9-Web-Protection/665.html 5.) Access the task manager (ctrl + alt + del), go to the "process" tab, find "k9filter" and end this process of course after this point you won't be able to get on the internet since you just tampered with the program so make sure you've got the license from your email, the k9 installer, the k9 installer for the older version, and these directions on your desktop or something 6.) Go to the folder k9 is installed in ( C:\Program Files/Blue Coat k9 Web Protection/ is where it should be) and delete all the files in the folder, but not the folder itself 7.) Run the installer for the older version of k9 at this point you'll enter your license and create a password 8.) Install it in the folder you emptied earlier 9.) Now you can log on to k9 and change the filtering to whatever you please or just go ahead and uninstall it Now you should be free of that horrible skank of a program If not, then restart your computer. Or you can reinstall it from the installer you got from the k9 website, get on the internet, and email me at heliumface770@yahoo.com and you and I will solve the problem K9 may have fixed this bug by the time you read this (because that's what they do best) but as of June 24, 2009 k9 doesn't stand a chance of torturing us with their nearly impossible-to-remove garbage any longer.

You need to talk with your dad and have him reconfigure K9 to allow you access to other software, like Myspace and Facebook.
