How do I unlock my tablet

My son was messing with my tablet and locked it how do I unlock it it's a LG g pad

If it's android then you can reset it but you will lose all the apps you installed along with any saved passwords.
power off the tablet by holding down power until screen goes blank.
hold both the power button and the volume up button for at least ten seconds.it should boot to android logo...then a robot with red exclamation.leave it alone until the option to reset screen appears.
follow onscreen instructions to reset.
