Please do *NOT* take it to some special "jeweler". Please do *NOT* send to back to Casio. Ugh.

Just slide the metal pins in the direction of the tiny arrows.
Very simple.
Total cost = $0.

Take it to a jeweler and they will send it to casio to remove a link. The clip may have movable anchoring points . You need a pin to push in the pins inside the link on both sides. then move the link and re anchor the band under the clip.

How do you remove links from a casio watch strap S-1183DV on watch WV-59DU ?

Hi,

You will need to hold the watch firmly in your hand, with the side pointing up. Make sure that you can grip it firmly. If you have trouble holding onto the watch, place it on a stable surface. Make sure that the side is facing toward the ceiling and locate a connecting pin. There will be a connecting pin on each link of the watch band. Select a link, and hold the eyeleteer over the connecting pin for that link. Carefully place the eyeleteer onto the connecting pin. Push gently but firmly until the connecting pin slides partially out the other side. Occasionally, the pin will be difficult to push through the slot. If this is the case, gently tap it though with a standard hammer. Using a pair of pliers, pull on the connecting pin carefully until it slides out. Keep a firm grip on the watch band so that the links do not come apart before you are ready for them to. Separate the Casio watch band. Repeat this process with additional links until the watch band is as small as you would like it to be. Reconnect the band by tapping or pushing a connecting pin into the band where it is disconnected.

How do I adjust the length of the bracelet (watch band) for a Casio EF106D-2AV bracelet watch?

  • Select a clean, flat work surface where you can perform your watch band adjustment. Put down a piece of felt to protect the face of your Casio. Turn on a lamp near your workspace to better illuminate the watch components with which you will be working.
  • Lay your Casio face down on the protective felt. Look for the small arrows on the back of some of the watch links; these arrows indicate the removable watch links and the direction their pins should be removed.
  • Locate the pin hole above the arrow on the removable watch links. Insert the tip of a watch pin removal tool, or push pin, into the pin hole. Apply pressure to the link pin, in the direction indicated by the arrow, to free the pin and remove the link. A pair of needle-nose watch or jewelry pliers can be used to help pull out stubborn link pins. Remove as many links as necessary for your watch to fit perfectly.
  • Reserve the links and link pins that you remove from your Casio Edifice watch. Store the removed watch components in a small, clear, plastic zipper bag. These components can be used when repairing or expanding your Casio watch band.
  • WARNING:Casio recommends that customers have their watch bands sized by an authorized Casio watch dealer. Sizing the band of your Casio Edifice yourself may void the manufacturer's warranty on your watch. Contact Casio customer support for more warranty information.

I need to shorten the metal link watch band of my Casio Model 2747 watch.

I just looked at the watch band link more closely and figured out how to remove the links. Pretty engenious link attachment arrangement!

I thought there would be something in the watch manual about band adjustment, but there wasn't. I guess it is not something a "normal" person would be able to do.

    Thanks,

On most brands, there are pins that form hinges for the links of strap. You need to push them out to remove links. Usually you would find arrows marked from inside of the metal bracelet which show you the direction in which to remove the pins. You can remove it if you have a small watch maker's screwdriver but you have to be careful. or get one of these ..

which should help you to remove the link pins safely without scratching.

    Wrist band adjustment

In addition to the Pin there is also a small inner "locking" collar about 2mm long that fits into the center section of each link.

I did not notice this collar at first and it fell to the ground when I removed the first link. Without this piece the Pin's will just slide through the links with no locking mechanism.

It fits neatly into the inner portion of the link directly opposite the arrow that shows the direction of removal on the band.

    Casio watch, removal of links

I clipped a driver pin out of a safety pin and tapped the band pins out with the driver pin and a hammer. It helps to have someone hold the band on a hard place over a hole.
