SOURCE: Front speakers only produce static

The amps are on each of the speakers. There is a place in Florida that will fix them for around $85.00 each plus shipping. I put a sony unit in mine and replaced all of the speakers with the kicker ds series for less than fixing the bose system.

SOURCE: Speakers/Stereo may be shorting out

You will need to remove the stereo. Some of them have four holes that you have to put either the tools or long thin screwsdrivers or nails into to pull it out. Others have tabs around the edges that have to be bent down in order to come out. Then you will want to look at the wire harness to see where the short is. See if it can be glued or soldered back together

Trying to hook up aftermarket stereo with no factory harness. How can I go about wiring my new stereo wires or my replacement harness (with module) to my car's already existing loose stereo wiring??

Hi Daniel

You need to test & label all the loose wires.

Use a multimeter in Ohms mode to place a tickle of electricity to each speaker wire. you should hear each speaker crackle. (Multimeters only use a 9v battery internally)
Label each pair of wires for speakers.
Their color coding may help. Keep the negative & positive wires to the speakers correct so that the speakers all travel in a forward motion together or you will have distortion from one speaker that is out of phase with the others.
You will also have a permanent +12v line and a Ignition Key +12 volt line.
One keeps the station memory etc when the ignition key is off.

Cheers

As it's a stereo receiver and you specify one CV speaker, hook the speaker to the other side of the receiver and see if it still has the same problem. If so, hook it to any other audio source you may have. If it has a problem on only one side of the receiver, the receiver has a blown channel. If the speaker distorts on both sides of the receiver and on a separate audio source, the speaker is blown.

Stereo crackles

A little more detail. Do you mean speakers are crackling. Most likely blown the factory speakers. These are very cheaply made. And if you play music loud often they will blow easy. Is it completely stock system. If you relaced your stereo with an after market it may be the wrong ohms for the speakers or to much power and you need better quality speakes. If not coming in clearly make sure your antenna is tight and your wire harness are are connected securely. Let me know more details. Do you have infinity sound or not. Any after market components. Or completely stock.

DVD problem 2008 xc90 crackles in speakers. Regular stereo does not

Try running a laser cleaning disk in it to clean the laser. Often times it has dust inside and distorts audio and video.

1994 toyota corolla speaker crackle

Check all the connectors going to the radio and the speaker that is acting up. Also check the radio antenna ground if this happens when the just the radio is playing. Unplug them and plug them back in a few times, there may be a corrosion problem.

I tried to install an aftermarket 6 1/2" speaker

possible reasons:

Impedance mismatch
wiring is grounding out on frame/metal
speaker isn't OEM and is slightly "pinched" thus causing cone distortion

One of these three will be your issue.

Also, you may remove the speaker and leave it hanging with the wires attached. Knowing that no wiring is shorted and nothing is disturbing the cone, try running your stereo. Same crackling problem? It may be an impedance issue or you reversed the polarity on your speaker.

It will require some work but the solution is there if it was working before.

My radio speakers crackle & distort very badly--I've never played them loudly but can bearly stand to listen to radio?? Is there a fix w/o replacement?? Thanks

Blown speakers in a 2006 should not be an issue, especially in a quality vehicle. You may just have a loose connection at the stereo causing the crackling sound. If you are not the cars first owner the previous owner may have been enjoying the bass a little too much and caused damage to the speakers, but I would check the connections first.
