I'VE TRIED HOOKING ONE OF THEM UP TO 2 DIFFERENT Tvs. I have followed all directions and have tried booking them up using the optical cables and the red and white jack and plugging it into the auxiliary. My problem is that the soundboard keeps Making a very loud and annoying popping noise during playback. I was able to eliminate most of the popping noise using my Samsung to and selecting a different audio mode but I still get a once and a while popping noise. On my Emerson I gave up and ran the optical cable straight from the cable box but now I get the popping noise constantly. Is the sound bar defective. What can I do?

Why are you running hdmi to converter box? Run HDMI cable directly from dvd to new Panasonic plasma. The less things in between, the better the picture.
SOURCE: LG 47" LCD TV - 47LC7DF Clicking Noise
I was told that these clicking noises (which happen on my Magnavox LCD too) were due to the "power required" at the internal switch. Seems that the power required to immediately turn on the TV is too much for a standalone household outlet, so it "surges" power in a series to get enough there. Hence, the clicking sounds are actually mini power surges to send more power to the internal circuits to turn the TV on.
If your set is like mine, these noises generally stop after a minute or two, correct?
SOURCE: Hdmi and audio
is it possible that the output on your HD cable box is actually DVI and not HDMI type? the reason I mention is because the majority of HD cable boxes still have DVI outputs which CAN be converted to HDMI but DO NOT carry an audio signal, which would explain what is happening to you right now. If you DO have a DVI connection on your box as I had guessed then all you would need to do now is either hookup standard stereo RCAs from your cable box to the TV or preferrably, an optical digital audio cable from your HD box to the TV. good luck!
SOURCE: no sound on my phillips 42
Hook it up with component cables plus L&R analog audio. Make sure the Speakers are not turned off in the settings. Unplug, wait 30 sec's. or even overnight. If still no sound, try cable or air/rabbit ears on the internal tuner. If nothing, bad main board. $350.00 from Andrews.

may have a proprietary cable format. try switching up the colors on the TV end (red to yellow / white to yellow.)
may work, depending on the cable you bought.
