SOURCE: drum keeps filling with water when not in use

Hi, You will need a new water inlet valve. the valve has stuck open just enough to let water trickle in. Until you can repair it, just turn the valve off at the wall. If you have not yet found your answer, let me know and I will assist you in getting part#.

I hope this helps. If so, please rate my answer so I know how I am doing.

SOURCE: Drum will not hold water when filling or if it

No malfunction in the machine that I can imagine could cause your problem.
There are only two ways that your washer could be losing water, you might have a leak in which case you would know because you would see a mess on the floor.
You might also have the end of the drain hose to low, gravity will cause the machine to drain if the tip of the hose isn't about four feet off the floor.

My bush washer keep s filling up with water in the drum when the washer isn't in use

Seems that your inlet valves are leaking when the unit is off. Replace inlet valve and that should stop the issue.

Water leaking out bottom of drum. Drum does not fill up all the way and starts leaking close to halfway of filling

Contact a professional so they can properly and accurately diagnose the unit for repairs. Sounds like you have a leak in the drain lines, or the water valve.

Drum fills with water when not in use

It sounds as though you have a fill valve that is leaking. There are 3 valves on the fill unit, 1 for hot water, 1 for cold water and 1 mix. Either the hot or cold valve in the mixing unit is leaking.
You can take a look at item 39 below, it is the water valve unit.
fd13a43.gif There could be a piece of rust scale or dirt under the valve seat that is causing the leak or it is just worn out.
Good luck, let me know if I can do anything further.

Fills up when not on

you have a leaky water valve it leaks because one of the solenoids in the valve is stuck open, the unit senses the water in the drum from the leak and therefore must be drained before it can start a new cycle, replace the water valve.

Water runs into drum when washer is off

You only have to change the inlet valve, can fit it yourself. The valve is at where the water comes in from the faucet at the wall. Surely you can do it yourself. While you are at it make sure to clean out the fine mesh at the hose and machine with a toothbrush. Good luck.

Maytag atlantas top loader water keeps dripping from top of drum

Your water inlet valve is probably leaking by. If the water pressure is too, or if there is sediment build inside the valve, sometimes the solenoids will not close properly. Try cleaning the valve to see if this helps. If not, I would recommend replacing it. Depending on which valve you have, repairclinic.com has two listed for this model washer for $20 to $30. Let me know if this helps, or if you need further assistance.

Whirlpool Duet Washer Leaking

For those wondering about replacing the water inlet valve - this is a very simple undertaking.  You can find the part online for around 40 bucks.  All you have to do is unplug the washer, detach the hot and cold supply hoses, remove the lid (3 torx bits on my model) unhook the water line from the old inlet valve (conveniently accessible at the top right of the unit from the rear), unhook the electrical connections (be sure to label these for later re-attachment), unscrew the 1 screw holding the valve in place, and reverse the process with the new valve.  I'm hoping this will stop water accumulating in the drum - I'll update later if it does not.

Water in drum

It sounds like you have a faulty fill valve that is leaking by. The valve has an electric solenoid but also has a small diaphragm that needs to seat properly to keep the water supply from coming in. If the diaphragm is not seating correctly for whatever reason, water pressure alone can keep water filling into the wash tub. Even the smallest amount, over time can cause problems. One way to test the theory is to shut off the water supply before you go to bed. If the tub is still empty in the morning, more than likely you have a bad fill valve. Let me know if this helps.
