Is it coming from under the washer? You may have a hose that is leaking or your pump may be broken. Examine where water is coming from. If it fills up and does not stop it is in your pressure dome hose. Remove cabinet and examine.
UNPLUG
To remove cabinet. Remove 2 screws in front of console one on each side.Lift console forward than up and flip back. Be careful not to knock it off hinges. Remove two gols clamps examine so you dont put on wrong. Disconnect quick connect going to lid switch. Tilt cabinet back towards front. You can than examine all the hoses the pump and the pressure dome. Pressure dome is on the side its a small hose going from tub to console.
If you need further assistance or have any questions please feel free to comment me back.

SOURCE: Roper washing machine AL5143VLI won't spin
Hello, Kurt. First of all I think the reason it is not spinning is the switch. Where the lid peg goes into the slot on the machine, (the little hole the peg goes in), that is called the switch, if that goes out it it will not allow machine to spin. It is a safety device for kids not to be able to stick hand in machine when at high speed, so when lid lifts , idea is for it to stop spinning. Of course when switch goes out, now needs replacing , because will not work until it is fixed.
