My cordless Dewalt finishing gun has stopped firing when you try to fire it in a vertical position. Works fine on skirting and architrave but just gives a little 'pop' if try to fix anything to ceiling.

Its not a gas type, its the 'Fly Wheel' type I think its called, just a battery at the bottom of the grip. Tried different brands of pins but all causing same problem.

I have a constant similar problem with my pnumatic nailer. If the construction is similar, flip up the barrel cover, make sure it's not jammed (sometimes 2 nails come down at once).pull back the pressure spring (on nail housung). Remove upper barrel piece for easier acess to the barrel. use something sharp to pry them out.Make sure to oil your barrel regularly. It's less convinient but another way to do it is to bite the bullet and buy a 5 gallon compessor, cord, hose, etc. Dewalt sells a kit at a reasonable price.

Is this a gas cartridge type of nailer? It could be the effects of gravity on the spray nozzle. try pushing down in normal position but dont fire it. quickly move to ceiling then try firing. I am not a fan of this type of nailer as they are problematic and finicky.

SOURCE: nail gun wont fire

First - the air pressure has to be high enough - check the regulator on the tank to make sure it is delivering in excess of 60-70 psi (which I am sure you have already done).

If you have dry fired these guns (i.e. shot them off with no nails in them while you were lubricating them maybe) the mechanism inside could be damaged. I had that happen to one of my nailers (same brand). That was when I learned not to dry fire them...

Since both of them are not working though I would be more inclined to look at the air supply first.

SOURCE: my paslode angled finishing gun keeps jamming

Hi,

Here is a tip that I wrote about the Paslode nailers and the problems that can come up with them.

I also have a link to the Paslode manuals which contain Paslode cleaning and troubleshooting guides.

If you need parts for your Paslode, there also is a link for a site that sells the Paslode nailer parts.

SOURCE: When i put air to my gun it has rapid fire and will not stop. How do i fix this

It sounds like either the trigger valve is stuck of malfunctioning. It is item 68 on this diagram. With the toll UNPLUGGED from air make sure the trigger pin is releasing as it should when the trigger is depressed. Obviously do not check this with it plugged into an air line.

My DiWalt 16 guage cordless nailer will not cycle or turn on when I compress the tip to fire a nail. May have bumped the tip while putting it away. Was working fine and then just stopped. Repair shop say...

I would not try and repair this yourself. They are a nightmare to work on and I have been repairing construction tools for 20 years. The reason they want you to authorize up to $200 is because the GRC on this tool through DeWalt is $199. That means that if you take it to, or send it to a DeWalt service center (actual DeWalt, not just and authorized repair shop) they will fix whatever it needs and the price will not exceed $199 no matter how many parts it needs. Here is a link to the parts diagram if you want to see what they are link.

The pin on my Dewalt dc616 cordless finish nail gun is ceasing up. How can i lubricate it? can i spray silicon into the nose of the gun?

Hello, W/D here.

The better way is to disconnect the air line from the gun, and place several drops of light oil in the gun while holding the trigger down. Oil daily. Then, re-connect the hose, and fire a few nails into scrap wood.
Another trick is to spray your nails with WD-40 before you load them into the gun.
Best regards, --W/D--

Dewalt angled finish nailer, just got, when nose is depressed and trigger pulled, just sound of air releasing, wont fire..... need trigger assembly?

if air is released when the trigger is pulled then stops when the trigger is released , then the trigger is doing its job. its probably a firing valve issue. four screws will take off the top cap of the gun the firing valve is inside of the cap . first check to see if the gun has enough oil( unless its an oil less gun) if its dry then grease or oil all of the orings, if this dose not work check to see if any of the orings or plastic parts need replacing. pls rate this answer...;tks

Dewalt cordless nail gun fires but doesn't seem to feed the nails very well, alot of misfires.

Try another brand of nails -- maybe your gun doesn't like those. Also, blow any dirt out of the nail magazine.
