SOURCE: Paper Jam

The fuser unit has a pape sensor. If, for some reason, the sensor is stuck, the printer will read a paper jam. Open the rear door and inspect the paper sensor located in the fuser assembly. See if it came out of it's original position or if there is something blocking it from moving freely. Good luck.

SOURCE: Paper jam at fuser

1. Faulty/blocked fuser exit sensor or faulty/blocked POB sensor. The printer thinks paper is present at one of these sensors when there should not be paper present
Verify that the fuser exit sensor is not stuck
If both sensors are working correctly, the most likely cause is the POB sensor is being blocked by the transfer unit. This can happen if the sensor is out of position, or if the transfer unit's white plastic baffle is out of position. Try bending the POB sensor bracket outward slightly to clear the baffle and retest.

Is it a new or refurbished fuser? Where exactly does it jam. By trays, registration or before fuser? Problem can be with various sections. Need to know more.

After the fuser, problably near the exit rollers, there is going to be a switch/sensor, that has a problem. It could be hung up, out of position, ect, but you have a typical exit sensor problem.

Ricoh MP C5503 Colour Laser Multifunction Printer. Paper does not pass front of fuser unit?

Does it take in paper and then jam there?

Open all the inspection doors. Remove paper trays. Remove all the toner cartridges. Use a flashlight and look for a small piece of torn paper and remove it carefully. Clean all feed rollers with a damp cloth. Reassemble and test.

RICOH FT-4622 paper bypass sensor does not sense the paper. empty tray indication light ON althogh paper in the tray.

Dirty or faulty sensor. Check if you can give it a good blow with a blower (if you have one) then check to see if it senses the paper. Otherwise its a dead sensor.

Ricoh CL 7100 fuser jam.

The grinding noise is the clashing of gears. The fuser is composed of 2 rollers, a metal or ceramic with a heater inside (bulb) and a silicon roller to apply pressure. The 'hot' roller is geared and the silicon roller can be geared or free floating. There is at least 1 paper sensor in the the fuser to let the unit know whether paper is there and there when it should or should not be. Sometimes, the sensor gets slightly dislodged and can actually cause a jam. If you are hearing a gear clash, the paper is being pushed through the machine and instead of being pushed through the fuser, it stops because the fuser rollers are not turning. The rest of the machine keeps pushing, crinkling the paper.
If there is crinkling, then gears that drive the fuser need to be checked. It is this gear cluster and/or the fuser that need to be replaced.

Ricoh aficio 150 paper jam

There are pressure release levers on the fuser --- if they are not in the correct position they will not apply the proper pressure and you will get jamming in that area. The levers are either a light green, light blue or plain black. They should be on the left and right side ( looking in at the fuser. Turn/ flip them and check.

There was a paper jam, I cleared it and it will not reset. The machine won't print at all, just keeps showing paper jam.

There are flag sensors in each machine. The have to sence if the paper is moving properly through the machine. They are sometimes black in color, that flag sensor might be jammed in an up postion, or broken look at where that paper stopped and look for a flapper toggle unit that senses the paper. There also might be paper still in the machine, check the fuser unit, the hot area look to see if paper has wrapped around the upper fuser roller.
