Are you letting the laminator reach operating temperature? If the ready light is on and it is not getting hot then you may have a problem with the temp. sensor. Put your hand near, but not on, the top roller to feel if it is getting hot. Don't touch the roller in case it is hot. If it is getting hot then wait for the ready light to illuminate(about 10 minutes).
There is a heating unit inside of a hot laminator. Sometimes when you use this machine for too long it can damage some of the internal components because most of those things are full of plastic. You may want to see if Fellows can take it back under warranty. If they can't you are going to have to get a new one.
It will beep when you turn it on to acknowledge power. It will also beep when it reaches ready condition. Your laminator has safety switches for the lower feed tray and upper heat shield. Any time the upper shield is lifted the power is shut off. When you lower it down the power is turned back on, causing a beep. The same is true for the lower feed table. When it is removed and then re installed the machine beeps. These are safety features so that the laminator doesn't turn on when you are reloading it or unjamming it. Check that the safety switches are fully engaged if you get unnecessary beeping.
warm the machine back up, get the glue sticky again, then work it off, either by going in forward or reverse, whichever works best for the given situation. Don't use anything sharp as the rollers damage easily....very expensive
go to youtube and watch the video on GBC ultima65 film loading. sounds like you are not using a threading card to load laminator. Manila File folders work great to load laminators Westco Laminating Svcs 405-324-6092
well it sounds like you may have cut a wire or pull one somewhere. i would go ahead and take it apart carefully and check everything. may have unplugged something hopfully! let me know whwat happens!
Each heat shoe has a small thermal fuse, if either fuse is blown, the laminator keypanel will not operate. 99% fix everytime, just follow the wires from each heat shoe (right side of laminator) cover off. Ohm each set of wires and look for an open circuit. replace fuse (TCO) and it will work everytime......Westco Laminating Service 405-324-6092.
We have an Ulitma 65 and it won't heat up...Any suggestions on how to fix this? We are at a school and no $ to replace the whole unit. Thanks in advance.
