That is a model number you have quoted

1 - Ovation
1- Acoustic roundback and hollowbody electric
1- Standard bowl
1- Balladeer model
and -1 is a colour code

Your serial number will probably be a letter followed by 3 to 6 digits eg "E3689"

It was built in 1979. The 6 digit serial numbers do not tell us the material.

First, get a mirror and strong flashlight and try to get a better look, maybe loosen the strings first to get better access. It is probably either an Allen key or hex head. Once you are confident you have seen it prpoerly, do something like this
