There is no reset button on those. There is a thermal breaker in the barrel if the heating coils get to hot. If this sticks open then it wont work but you cannot reset it.

I have fine hair and could never get it to hold a curl, let alone a wave. But I am finally able now that I bought the Hot Tools Ceramic professional curling iron. I am really happy with it!

Your remote should come with a pamphlet which has instructions on how to do this. The pamphlet should include many codes for different types of TV's and instructions on how to enter them. Find the code for your model of TV and follow the instructions. If you cannot find your pamphlet, this website has a list of all TV, VCR, and Cable box codes. Some devices may have multiple codes. If this is the case then simply enter each code consecutively until the remote works. If you cannot find your pamphlet, then you can try following these instructions-

1. Find codes for each device and brand below.
2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH.
3. Press and release the TV, VCR or Cable button you want to set up. If programming AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device to be programmed (TV, VCR or Cable). When the selected device button flashes proceed to the next step.
4. Enter the three digit code from the TV, VCR or Cable Box code lists.
   
   
5. Release CODE SEARCH.
6. With the device on, press another button, for example CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-5 using another code number from the lists.

Sry my english is not so good, iam from germany, today i have solved this problem, You have the button whre you can save it that it holds his posiotion on the side with the open Lock you need to remove the Button, then you see a screw, remove it und push the string out, (then the button on the other side cames outside) now you have in 2 items and can easily take apart.

You must have model numbers to get any real help. If you mean you took the motor apart, you could go to www.briggsandstratton.com/ and download a manual.

Find your model number on your motor and enter on web site.

You are correct in your assessment that leaving a cracked cooktop in place could present a potential hazard. Are you sure you have the correct model number posted? I ask because I found a JED8430 model number listed at repairclinic.com with the glass top, item number 935927, listed for $215. There's also another one listed as item number 948440 for $226. The second glass top also requires 4 corner tapes (item number 696731). Of course, these prices did not include shipping. Something you may consider, though. If this is not your model number, then ignore the previous question.
