SOURCE: sending email

here are the settings for btinternet, if you use "outlook" you must manually configure them!

  • The POP3 server (incoming mail) is mail.btinternet.com
  • The SMTP server (outgoing mail) is also mail.btinternet.com
  • Both need your BT Yahoo! email address and password; you will have to tell your e-mail program that the SMTP server requires authentication.
  • The SMTP server can use either port 25 or port 587.
The most common fault is to provide your ADSL username and password when your BT Yahoo! username and password is what's required.

good luck and regards

Hi Irene.

Sending pictures via email won't erase them from your hard drive. It's a copy of the picture only.

Hope this eases your mind.

How do i send photo files that are on my laptop without losing the pictures

Hi Irene - There are many ways to send photos and so I am assuming you are sending them by email. If this is not correct, please provide more info. Within your email program send a new message. In the new message, click on Attach File or Insert Picture. Which ever you choose, it will open a box that will allow you to locate your photo files on your laptop. Select the ones you want and they will be added to the email. They will also remain intact on your laptop. Hope this helps. Thanks.

My dell c 521 is "split" - his n' hers can I combine into one usre without losing info

The answer is "YES!" If you have two (2) accounts open on one (1) computer; when closing one ("Deleting") an account, you will be given the option of saving" Files, Data, Pictures etc" to Folders that will be placed on the open account's "Desktop". You can also transfer Files etc, to the User account: example; Move, Send to: open "Documents" in (Active) "User's" account, and "Drag & Drop." To start, go to: Control Panel, change User's account. There are other options aswell; change (Password)... "Apply, and click "OK! " I hope this helps Ya"

Cannot email our pictures; need more instructions please we bought item #CR10TD-R we have windows 98

First of all download any zip software so that you can zip them to a folder and send it......
you can download the one from below
http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10007677.html
install it and after that right click the folder in which you have pictures and than select add to archive... option and click ok to make a zip folder. Now you can use a website www.yousendit.com which is a very good site to send files which takes more space ,but should be less than 100 mb..there you will see a box in which you have to fill the address of the person to whome you want to send email and just below to that your email address .now you will see option attachment click on that and browse to that zip folder ...that's it and now click on send button .........
