Hello ditommm,
Not to worry, I think I can help. On the face of your DCC-1200, there are two black switches. The right one adjusts the carafe temperature. With the white line to the left you get a lower carafe temperature. With it all the way to the right you get the highest (hottest) temp. Of course, in the middle, you get a medium temp. I use mine with the lowest temp so that I don't end of scalding my lips and tongue when I drink my coffee. Use this bit of info to adjust your carafe temps. If you are looking to cause the actual brewing temp I don't know of a way to do that. Coffee needs to be brewed at the set temp in order to break down the elements of the ground coffee. I hope this is what you were looking for in an answer and that it is helpful. If it is, please consider leaving positve feedback for me. I will certainly appreciate it. Good luck! Regards, NormanZ

Brews good hot coffee but warming plate has stopped heating! Are replacement elements readily available or could it be a fuse...??

The DCC-1200 has only one element, that both heats the water for brewing and keeps the carafe warm. If you're brewing coffee then the element is fine and the suspect part is the Thermistor. Another forum suggested this was a Vishnay NTCLG100E22245B, available from DigiKey (their part # BC2467), connected to the control board with thin yellow wires. The same forum suggested that this thermistor should test at 220K ohms at room temperature, dropping to 20K at about 220F.

The red brew light comes on but will not brew about 3 years old

Amazing! My dcc-1200 developed the identical problem on the identical day. Sounds like planned obsolescence. I will watch this space for solutions. Sorry I can't help; I'm frantically looking for my receipt.

Coffee maker shuts off too soon after brewing.

Hello FloydBob, The Cuisinart DCC-1200 has the ability to program the auto-off function that keeps your coffee warmer plate on after brewing is complete.

The unit lets you select the time increments from zero up to 4 hours.

See page 6 of the attached manual for the full instructions for reprogramming the coffee maker.

To program the Variable Auto Off:
1. Turn the FUNCTION KNOB to the “Auto Off”
position. Press and hold the “Hour” button
for 2 seconds. The clock display will start
blinking.
2. Program the coffeemaker to shut off from
zero to four hours after brew cycle is
finished by using the “Hour” and “Minute”
push-buttons.

I figured you might also like to have a complete instruction/owners manual so you can have access for any other questions you might have about your coffee maker, in the future.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Dcc-1200 not working

Probably dead, but:

Here is the basic troubleshooting for the Cuisinart coffee makers:
Make sure all baskets are in proper place – especially if unit is beeping.
Do not use a paper and a gold-tone or other permanent filter at the same time.
Unplug for LONGER THAN 15 full minutes to reset.
Clean by brewing 2 oz of distilled white vinegar/2 oz water.
If these methods fail, the unit probably requires replacement – call Cuisinart as they have a longer-than-standard warranty.
