Why does my timer buzz and lights flicker on and off?

I have tried taking it out and reinstalling it. When it's out it doesn't buzz, when I put it back in, it does.

The lower priced dimmers are only rated for 400 Watts. If your switch is controlling more than 400 Watts, then you have a problem--with a potential fire waiting to happen. Add up the wattage of each light bulb you are controlling with the switch to determine if you have less or more than 400 Watts. They do make dimmers rated for up to 1000 Watts.

If the problem isn't wattage, I suspect you may be using your dimmer to control a motor (like a ceiling fan motor). If this is the case, you have the wrong kind of switch: one designed for lighting, not motors. They do make dimmers designed for motors; they don't buzz when you dial them down.

Danfoss 103 timer is making a constant buzzing noise!!...everything's works fine but I want to stop this buzzing noise. Any actions I should take or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

How much wattage is going through the timer and what is its rated load max? try unplugging whatever is plugged into it and see if it stops but if you exceeded the max load might be damage to the internals which can cause that buzz.

Ge timer 15131 buzzing

Copy following link to see array of GE analog timers, including 15131: Model numbers and designs change as products are updated to meet new marketing objectives.
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15119

Information about 15131 analog timer:
Plug timer into different outlet to eliminate outlet-wiring as possible suspect.
If timer makes noise only when connected to one outlet, then test outlet for loose wires, and feel is outlet is warm, or circuit breaker is warm to touch to indicate electrical problem.

GE15131 is ordinary analog timer with small clock motor inside that rotates timer dial. Motor gears are plastic, and generally very quiet.
So the timer has small motor that could cause humming noise.
There is also a switch that could be partially burned, from use-and-age or overload, and that could be flickering, but you would expect that to happen only when light was ON, and light would probably flicker, or not turn on.
Buy another timer if noise is annoying. These timers have 1 year limited warranty, and can stop functioning within a year or two, just like a $10 Christmas toy might not function very long.
Analog timers sometimes work for many years.

I just tried to turn on my compaq f500 and the power light flickers and that is it. it does not turn on. how can i get it turn on.

Try taking out the battery, push and hold the power button for 30seconds, and put the battery back in. If that doesn't help, there is a good chance the motherboard is damage.

I have a timer for a lamp outside it is making a loud buzzing sound even when turned off.Is there sometime that i can do to stop this?

You timer is buzzing.

Try changing light bulb > sometimes these timers malfunction when there is line interference.

Try resetting timer with reset button.
Some timers require holding down on-off button while pressing reset button.
Check your manual.

If you don't have a manual, open following link to help identify your timer and download manual.

If resetting timer does not solve problem, you might need new timer.
Most timers have 1 year limited warranty.
New one can be purchased at local home center.

The way to approach this sreies of issues is to first remove the remote start/alarm from the equation and restore the vans electrical system back to original. From there, if it persists, we can do more trouble shooting. Let me know and I can walk you through the process. This is definately a problem that does require a diagnostician. Thank you for the level of detail you provided!

Pinstripe cinema display flickers on momentarily then goes black. Image comes back for a split second while when power light glows steadily then goes away while power light flickers. this is a 22"...

when the screen is black and the power light is steadly lit, shine a flash light at the screen. if you can see something, the inverter board is bad and the back light cannot turn on. if the power light flickers, reseat the power plug and put your ear to the back of the monitor where the power plug is. if you hear a buzzing or any high pitched noises; the power supply is bad. use the macufactures warranty for repairs.

Fridge lights are buzzing and flickering

You need to replace the electrical control board. It's an easy fix. About $75 for the part. No electrical work necessary. Just unclipping and re-clipping wires into their ports. You do not need a repairman to do this! (I'm a 33 yr. old female, so please forgive my lack of technical terms in the post) I ordered one from AppliancePartsPros.com. It came in two days.

1. Pull out and UNPLUG the fridge.
2. Take out the screws that hold the bottom back panel on
(The electrical contol panel is located inside a white box attached to the lower left corner. )
3. Remove the screws that hold the box in place
5. Remove the bunch of wires out of the clip on the side of the box and pull the box out. Open it by releasing the clips on either side.
6. Disconnect the three sections of wires that plug into the board
7. Remove old board out of the housing
8. Insert new board,
9. Reverse above steps to complete installation.

Note: What triggers the buzzing sound is the door being opened. If you want to stop the sound and prevent the electrical current from going to the fried board until your new one comes, put a piece of tape tightly over the switch that pops out when the door is opened (located inside the unit near the door hinge).
