My son recently took a Sharp Aquos LCD television off the wall mount and gently laid it, screen side down, on a bed. When he remounted it, the screen had all kinds of lines running through it. The audio was fine. Could the screen or some of the electronics inside have shifted somehow? The tv was not hit or handled roughly in any way, and was working perfectly before it was taken off the wall. What might the problem be and how might I try to fix it?

You have thin ribbon cables running around the outside of the LCD screen. Chances are when the unit was removed, one or more of the cables became stressed and is not making the proper connection.

on the remote press menu, use the up and down arrow buttons to seach for aspect/screen press select/enter to choose the screen (you probally have it on zoom)
If the Aquos 46 is anything like the Aquos 42, the monitor is attached to the base with machine screws (bolts). They are located in the lower back portion of the monitor, probably need an Allen wrench to loosen and remove. Once that is done, the base can be removed from the monitor. Best way is to lay the monitor face down on a tabletop padded with foam, a quilt or blanket, etc to protect the screen as you work. Remove the stand from the monitor, not the monitor from the stand; it is easier and safer that way.
not sure i laid over a lcd for a couple mintues. that belong to my comapny, once i stood it back up the screen was cracked. i like to have fell over, the replacement part is 12266.00 i guess your out of luck. as i am.
LCD LAG COMPENSATION CIRCUIT? never heard of that, dosent mean it dosent exist, you may have a LCD driver board issue, never seen the trails thing on Aquos, have had to update the software on many of these critters though.
