I am not receiving channels with my new LG 42LB5600. My old tv I was getting 23 channels. Just unplugged the antenna plugged in to new one and only picking up 2 channels. What am I doing wrong?

Scanned numerous times adjusted the antenna fine tuned. Still cannot pick up a signal.

SOURCE: SAMSUNG LCD WONT TUNE INTO NORMAL TV STATIONS

You need to have a licensed antenna repairer out to fix your antenna. Just because your old tv is receiving enough signal to JUST get a picture doesn't mean your new tv will, A new tv doesn't mean you will get a perfect picture if your antenna is dodgy

SOURCE: LG LCD TV 37LP1D digital freeview tuning problems

Hi - I have the same problem. Also in Cornwall LG were not interested in helping because the TV was 3 1/2 years old. There was a possible fix in the end offered via LG at a cost of £180 + vat - a hardware update that might or might not work but I was not going to pay that so I now watch my LG 42 plasma via a £25 digi box from the CO OP. LG must have sold 1000's of these Tv's so when the digital switch starts in the more populated areas of the country I exect many more web postings.

SOURCE: Sharp digital tv cannot receive digital signal

This television would benefit from an hdtv indoor outdoor amplified antenna not obstructed by trees, aluminum, bricks, and etc. Make sure the signal type is air and not cable and complete a channel scan during primetime tv hours after connecting to this antenna. Buy a large one that you can mount to the wall usually in a large flat box on the shelf in the store. Philips has one sold at Walmart.

SOURCE: New LG 32LD350 - Allowed TV to auto-program

When you are auto tuning the system will not store a channel which is week by its standard ( at least 60% signal strength ) This done to avoid grainy picture and hissy sound.
You can go into manual tuning and store it.

Lg model 42lb5600-uz sometimes comes on for 5 seconds then picture goes black with sound

The tv that I have is an LG 42LB5600-UZ, but that wasn't one of the choices. The problem is that the television turns on... has a picture and sound, and then in about 30 seconds, the screen goes black but the sound continues. It is the same on every channel. It worked fine last night, but not today.

I just purchased a ge amplifier antenna for my magnavox tv and i am only receiving 1 channel and its very fuzzy

Your television has generally several receiving modes...such as video 1/2, cable, dvd , satellite, ext antennae. So make sure that it is set on external antennae. Then you will probably need to program in the stations that it is receiving again.. Meaning that ..before bought and installed this product your tv only recognized the channels with reception..now you need to run a new channel scan.. One last thing make sure vcr/dvd/tv button on any other devices you have is in the TV position..or if it is not make sure the signal amp is going into the input plug in the back of that device...rather than directly into the back of your tv... I think the combination of these things will solve your problem. good luck

I have a brand new straight from box LG TV model 32LD320. I have unpluged the HDMI from old TV ( where was working 100% OK) plugged into new TV. Mains switch on - and cannot get any chanels to report on...

HDMI sends video from a source likea bluray player or 'cable box' to tv it will not send signal so you can program channels from it

turn tv to the HDMI input you plugged device into and watch cideo from that source

you will need to connect some type of antenna to be able to program channels on tv

very few tvs need channels programmed these days since most people hook up a cable or sattelite receiver and change channels that way

hope this helps if not give me more speecific details and i can help you more

After setting up my new TV and running the auto channel search, I was only able to pick up channel's 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, & 11.1, 11.2, 11.3. The old TV (using the same antenna) was able to pick up the 3's,...

I guess it depends on where you put the antenna for the old tv and the new. If the antenna is in the same place then it follows the rule that not every tv set receives and displays the same. This being said means that your going to have to change direction of antenna to compensate for for the lack of reception on new set. Rember the new digital is line of sight transmission. Not all the towers are in the same place. Try adjusting antenna or get antenna booster.

We have an older model tv and can't figure out how to get the channels to above 69

Channels 2 to 69 are over the air - Antenna - channels.

Channels 2 to 125 (some duplication) are Cable channels.

There should be a way to switch your TV to Cable channels.
If it's really old there may be an Antenna/Cable toggle switch on the back of the TV.

Most newer TV's have a way to get a Menu that you can use to switch between Antenna and Cable. Check on your remote control.

If neither of those you'll probably need to buy a new TV.

I can't seem to get any digital channels

Before scanning for channel, check to see if the Antenna input is set to Cable or Antenna. If you have rabbit ears or and outside antenna then set it to antenna. If you have cable then set it to cable. Then rescan for channels. If this has already been set then the next step is to check the antenna or cable feed. If possible plug the antenna or cable feed into another TV that is known to be working correctly. If it is capable of receiving digital channels then the problem is likely the Samsungs ATSC tuner and will require service.
If neither TV is getting Digital channels then I will need more info on your antenna setup and where you are located. I am a pro on TV antennas and reception.
Hope this helps

I cant get the tv to go to higher channels

Most tv's have an Antenna mode and a cable mode. If you have cable tv service, the cable mode must be selected in order to receive channels higher than 23. Then you must auto program the channels thru the menu screen on the tv to receive the channels above 23. If you have a house antenna or rabbit ears, its hit or miss on receiving all VHF and UHV channels.
