Yes and no, you have to drop the tank to empty the contents, then remove the filter and unhook the supply line from the fuel rail, blow backwards through both lines towards the rear of the car. Install new filter and re-install the tank, if it hasn't had one replaced recently I would suggest installing a new fuel pump while the tank is down, then put everything back together in the reverse order.
cheapest way is a new fuel tank from e-bay that has it all installed
you can remove the rubber grommet around the lines to get it out then get a new filter to push on the line BUT will it be cost effective against what can be obtained from e-bay
maintenance tank problem Epson 4880 I have my Epson pro 4880 down for four weeks. The Maintenance tank is rejected by printer. I bought brand new waste tank sensor and chips still says: "NO MNT TNK" it also would let do media setting through Epson LFP remote panel at all. I need help of what may be wrong. please???
I'm so confused. This is reported as a Poulan and McCulloch pole saw, which one? Is it a pole saw? That is the only 445 Poulan I can find. It is reported as an electric but has a fuel routing problem.
If it is a Poulan Pro gas pole saw it is here: PP445 Gas Pole Pruner
The fuel system routing is terrible, but it is all there is.
Fuel Routing follows:
Tank to carburetor (hose in tank with filter on free end)
Carburetor to primer (primer draws fuel from the tank through the carb)
Primer to fuel tank (returns any excess fuel to tank when pushed) HTH

Take your Model number of your machine and the model, type, and code of your motor to your local small engine repair shop and have them get you your replacement filter and also pick up new gas line. When you replace your fuel lines do one at a time. All you have to do is pull a fuel line off, cut new line to length and re install. As to the filter in the tank, I usually take a coat hanger and fish it up to the top and then use needle nose pliers to grip it. Then just pull off the old filter and install new one.
O-rings or gasket are replaced to stop leaks, so that wouldn't have helped you.
It could be one of two things; either the white PCV-like pipe in the filter tank is cracked OR some of the laterals at the very bottom of the tank, under the sand, has melted. A whole new underdrain assembly is usually $70.
A little sand is normal, called a puff back. Anything more then a good pinch of sand is a problem If its a lot of sand you can check the following.
1. O-ring in side the filter valve when standpipe inserts is intact. Make sure that standpipe is not cracked and seats well into valve.
2. check spyder gasket inside filter head. (looks like a wagon wheel) if it is loose or is pulling up it will need to replaced or re-siliconed. A good indication of this being the problem is if water is leaking from backwash port.
3. Check hoses to make sure that the to pool, to pump conections have not been reversed, if this was case you would get a lotta sand into pool. (can empty tank)
