SOURCE: Xtreme sound wms303 cd player..... need a new one?

It sounds like if it only works a day or two and then you disconnect it and re-connect it, and it works again for a day or two, I don't think the problem is how you are connecting it. I think the radio needs to be reset every couple of days. If it has a reset button, just press that and it will at least keep you from disconnecting it and reconnecting it.

This also sounds like it has an internal electronic problem. When you disconnect the radio, it resets the microprocessor. You should have it checked out by a service center, or if you do not want to spend any money on this radio, just get a new one.

Freezes up and will not cut off or play

The power supply is going bad on you. I would suggest buying a new head unit as Xtreme Sound has little quality to offer in the first place ;)
