There could be several reasons why your Vizio sound bar is flashing standby and powering down. Here are a few things you can try:
Check the power supply: Make sure that the power supply is properly plugged in and that the outlet is functioning properly. You may also want to try plugging the sound bar into a different outlet to see if that resolves the issue.
Check the remote control: Ensure that the batteries in your remote control are fresh and that it is working properly. Sometimes, a faulty remote control can cause issues with the sound bar.
Reset the sound bar: Try resetting the sound bar to its factory settings. To do this, unplug the sound bar from the power source, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, then release the button and plug the sound bar back in.
Check the connections: Make sure that all cables are properly connected to the sound bar and any other devices it may be connected to. If you are using HDMI cables, try using a different cable to see if that resolves the issue.
If none of these steps work, it may be necessary to contact Vizio customer support for further assistance.
1. Plug in the power cord.
2. Plug in the optical cable from your TV to your sound bar.
3. Turn on your TV.
4. Turn on your Soundbar.
5. Check the audio on your soundbar and make sure it's set to the right input.
A few things to try:
1) Make sure Batts. are in correctly.
2) check in all around the sides back and under the sound bar for a reset button.
3) Clean the IR emitter on the remote and the receiver on the bar. On the remote it will be a reddish plastic window or a small bulb looking thing on the front. The receiver may be harder to find. I suggest just giving the entire front of the sound bar a good cleaning. I have had remotes stop working because there was to much dust built up on the receiver. I have also found that my kids handled the remote with dirty fingers and had gotten peanut butter on the emitter! Good Luck!
Is the remote a universal? Make sure you select TV as the the device you are trying to control. You can also fix a wonky remote by popping out the batteries and mashing down all the buttons. This rids the remote of any built up electricity that could be hampering functionality. Also, the remote sensor on the TV is controlled internally of course so a power drain of the TV wouldn't hurt:
1. Unplug the product's power cable so that the device is not grounded to the house. Do not simply turn off the power-bar if one is in use. 2. Press and hold in the products power button for 1 minute to release the retained electricity from the capacitors and circuit board.
3. Plug the product back into the wall outlet rather than a power-bar to rule it out of contributing to the problem and turn the device back on.
What do the buttons on the TV itself do? Do they work properly? If not, the problem is going hand-in-hand with the remote and again, the problem is internal and service or a firmware update, if available, may resolve this.
I am having same problem on 32 inch same problem. After playing with board with no results,I tried front buttons and found that if I held the power button in ever so slighItly as not to turn it off, it fixed problem which is the micro on/off switch, I removed the switch and used the remote and everything is back to normal, I am about to insall a used micro switch after I finish typing this but I am sure this will clear up volume problen and menu going crazy problem if not I will just leave micro switch out and use the remote, and I will get back to this board only if that micro switch still causes the problem, so if I don't post in next hour the problem is fixed and I'm more than glad to help.
The TV's front panel may be bad, manual buttons. TEMPT FIX; remove speaker, cloth covered, cover, disconnect cables. TV will work but only with remote.
well depends on how far it turns the volume down as to what the cause is and if the volume bar on screen display comes on when the vol. goes down. if it just goes down a little you probably have the "smart sound" setting turned on in the audio menu turn it off and see if prob. goes away. if the vol. bar comes on the screen whenever the vol. goes down the you most likely have a bad button on your front panel and it doesn't have to be the vol. down button. it you think it is the button it would need solder work to be changed most likely shop job.
