Dell v515 printer

Several immediate things come to mind; check to make sure that the printer drivers are up-to-date; there maybe a possibility of an IRQ conflict; check to make sure that the printer is set as the default printer in control panel; make sure that the printer you want to print from in the <file>, <print> menus screen is selected and not a virtual one. Absent more info like OS and how your printer is connected to your computer (e.g., is it through a serial cable, then make sure com port is active in BIOS and is checked off in the properties menu [control panel, printer, properties, port tab]; or are you using an LPT-printer port or USB connection- make the same check. Sorry that I can't be more specific without additional info.

HP DeskJet 6540 print job stuck in queue

If your computer has a Windows OS, you can clear the queue manually when the job will not delete it from the print queue list.

With Windows Vista or Windows 7, you will need to run the command prompt as Administrator. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt (for Vista or Win7, right click here and choose Run as Administrator). At the prompt, type "net spooler stop" without the quotes followed by pressing Enter. Next type "net spooler start" (again without the quotes followed by Enter). Restart the computer then take a coffee break before trying to print again. If you don't type the start command, this reset takes even longer after the computer is restarted.

Note if you use a Fax machine with the computer, you may need to confirm that this will stop the Fax service as well.

If the problem persists, make sure that the USB cable is currently connected to both the printer and the computer. You may want to change ports and make sure that other devices work in the USB ports. (Some computers have an option to disable some USB ports.)

If you have a different OS, please add a comment with the OS on your computer. I hope this helps.

How to solve 'error S01'?

1. Verify USB cable is connected directly from USB port of printer and the USB port on back of computer. If not, connect directly to both the printer and computer and try to print. If the printer does not print, go to step 3.
2. VERIFY THAT THE BROTHER PRINTER IS SET AS DEFAULT
This is especially important if you use the print icon to print from within applications. If the Brother printer is set as the default printer, it will have a check mark. If it is not set as default:
To set your Brother machine as the default printer, RIGHT CLICK on the Brother printer and select SET AS DEFAULT (PRINTER).
3. VERIFY THAT THE PRINTER STATUS IS READY AND THE PRINT QUEUE IS EMPTY
A. Click on START, RUN
B. Type: CONTROL PRINTERS and click OK.
C. Locate the Brother printer in the list and hover your mouse over the Brother printer icon. Below is an example of what you may see:
Status: Ready (Could also state: USE PRINTER OFFLINE or PAUSED)
Documents: 0 (Could be any number)
D. If there are any documents waiting in the queue, right-click on the Brother printer and select CANCEL ALL DOCUMENTS, depending on your operating system. This should clear the queue.
E. If the status states: USE PRINTER OFFLINE, right-click on the Brother printer and select USE PRINTER ONLINE depending on your operating system. This should set the printer driver ONLINE.
F. If the status states: PAUSED, right-click on the Brother printer and uncheck PAUSE PRINTING. This should allow the printer to resume printing.
G. If the status is ready and no documents are in the queue, attempt to print the Windows test page. If not successful, verify the selected port. If USB is the selected port follow step 4. If USB is not selected, change the port to USB, then attempt to print the Windows test page. If not successful proceed to step 4.
4. Turn the printer OFF.
5. Close any open programs.
6. Click Start, Run, type: control printers
7. Right click Printer, left click Cancel All Documents (if available). Confirm if necessary (click OK).
8. Right click Printer, left click Delete. Confirm if necessary (click OK).
9. Left click File menu, left click Server Properties, left click Driver tab, left click print model name, left click Remove button, click Confirm.
10. Close the Print Server Properties window to return Printers and Faxes window.
11. Check that the USB cable is properly connected at both ends.
12. Turn the printer ON.
13. Wait until printer has ready light or green status, watch the Printers and Faxes window to see if printer is automatically reinstalled.
14.a. If printer was automatically reinstalled, right click Printer icon, left click Properties, left click Print Test Page button. If the printer is not automatically reinstalled, call Brother Customer Service at 1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437).
b. If printer was not automatically reinstalled, try a new USB cable. Ifthe printer still is unable to print, call Brother Customer Service at1-877-Brother (1-877-276-8437).

I have connected d145 printer to my new dell laptop with Windows 7 but although installed as default printer it won't print

Do you have files in the queue? What is the printer status in Devices and Printers area?

Since this is a USB printer, my usual trouble-shooting starts with checking the USB connectivity. If you are using a hub, try connecting directly to the printer. Change to a new USB cable and try a different port. Check if a known working device will work in the port. Make sure the ports are not disabled for power-savings or security (power savings is adjusted as an advanced option in the same area as setting the Screen Saver, Security shut downs are in the Device Manager).

Frequently, you can reset the printer by unplugging the USB cable from both the computer and the printer and pulling the power cord for a minute. If the items in the print queue cannot be deleted from the queue, use the Command Prompt (run as administrator by a right click - Start, All Programs, Accessories) to empty the queue. Once in the command prompt, type "net stop spooler" without the quotes and then hit <enter>. Then type "net start spooler" (again without the quotes) and hit <enter>. Once the commands have been processed, reboot the computer.

I hope this helps.

Our HP DesignJet 500 will not print.

If they changed the server queue, or possibly did not even reinstall the printer queue on the new server, all is not lost.

First try connecting to the printer directly using USB or parallel if that's an option. If you can set it up as a local printer and that works, at least you know the printer is fine.

If you can print a diagnostic page with all of the specs of the printer, you can find the IP address and print directly to the printer, bypassing the server print queue. You can also find it in the Setup, IO Setup section of the printer's control panel.

To create an IP print connection, add a new printer, choose local printer, then choose "create a new port" of type "Standard TCP/IP port". Then enter your printer's IP and point to the driver as before, and you should be able to go direct.

Konica Minolta C450 status is offline. We have reinstalled the drivers, changed servers, changed network cord. We cannot print from our network computers to it, however, we can scan from the printer/copier...

Change the status to "Online". Sounds crazy, but most likely you print driver is set to enable "SNMP" on the port settings. Disbale this setting in the print driver, also set print Queue to "LPR" and name the LPR queue as "printer". Make sure there are no jobs int he queue when you change the port settings.
