Take the battery out and try starting it with the power cord only. If it starts then there is your answer. If it doesn't start then either your power cord/charger is dead or your motherboard is.
I think your power cord is bad. It probably was not charging the battery at all and so now all your battery power has drained since you were running on it. Once the battery power is drained and if the AC Adapter Power Cord is not working the computer will not boot because it has no power source.
Some AC Adapter & Power Cords have lights on them to let you know when it is plugged in if it is working. Normally when you plug the power cord in the laptop somewhere on the laptop lights up to let you know it is receiving power. Sometimes the light is where you plug it in, sometimes at the front of the laptop or right above the keyboard area.
I thing you need a power cord. And don't settle for one of the one size fits all (with a removable tip designed to fit any laptop) that the big box stores will sell you.
If your power cord is good and the laptop is not receiving power then the problem could be your DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the computer.
Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs
into the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the
jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to
take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the
motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.
* try to change the charger to see if its just the problem, even you see the light indicator of the charger, might the cord got intermittent wires due to improper handling or usage. this might happen when you try to roll the entire cord so tight.
* changing the battery is another option, when the battery got drained, the charging current doesn't able to get up,in this case it needs a replacement, might been using this battery for a long time.
* also check the charging pins or terminal if its clean and align, sometimes moisture or corrosion takes place, try to clean it using any pin and scratch the corroded or dirty part or the terminal so the current will continue undergo charging.
I hope this simple steps will definitely solve your problem... Thank you for visiting fixya.
The batteries need charging and when you plug in the charger and the power is on the lights wil flash indicating that the charger is plugged in. Now look at the rear of the chair near where the charger cord plugs into the chair and you should see a voltmeter. With the charger plugged in the voltmeter will indicate about 5-6 amps and after charging overnight the voltmeter should be reading 0 amps. If when you plug in the charger cord and the voltmeter indicates 0 amps then I would suspect that the charger is not working or that the fuse is blown in the charger circuit. The only way to see if the batteries charge would be to borrow or find an offboard charger that will plug into the charger port located under the front of the joystick and after charging for 10-12 hours see if the battery level lights show full charge Hope this helps
when you plug in the charger do you get any amp reading on the meter located at the rear of the chair near where the charger cord plugs into the chair. When you plug in the cord the meter should deflect and read 6 amps or so. If you aren't getting any deflection of the amp meter then either the batteries are dead or the charger is bad. If you have a voltmeter you can set it to 200 volts dc and plug the leads into the charger port located under the front of the joystick Plug the leads into the 2 outter holes of the port with the charger plugged into the wall you should be reading 27-30 volts. Unplug the charger and you will be reading the battery voltage and fully charged they should read 25-27+ volts. If you aren't reading 25-27 volts without the charger plugged in you will need new batteries( anything less than 10 volts will not let the chair turn on) if you aren't getting 27-30 volts with the charger plugged in then the charger is bad and you can get or borrow an off-board charger and charge the chair thru the joystick port Hope this helps
After three months, I'm sure the internal battery needs to be charged. But even so, it should work when plugged into the car charger. The first thing you should do is check that the charger cord is connected properly at both ends. Mine has a green LED on the plug. If yours does, make sure that light goes on. Try jiggling the connectors at each end of the power cord. If it still doesn't work, the next thing to try is replacing the power cord. (Maybe you can borrow a power cord from a friend). If the power cord isn't the problem, I'm afraid the problem is in the Garmin itself. Good luck.
There is a 7.5 Amp ATO automotive fuse on the rear electronics tray that is probably burnt out. The ammeter will not work when this happens. Also, if you have a bad on-board charger that will inhibit movement of the chair. Unplug the on-board charger and see if you get it to move. Hope this helps.
