How do I replace the lid lock (part # WH44X10288) on a GE Unitized Laundry Center

From my understanding your Frigidaire laundry center is not starting and did not drain properly. It is possible that this could be a miscommunication within the laundry center and a reset may help clear that out for you. In order to reset your laundry center you would need to disconnect power from it for at least ten minutes. I have a GE "Spacemaker Laundry" (Stackable) model number ... Today it filled withwater initially then stopped working all together when it ... Bad motor, something jammed/seized up holding the motor back from running?

My GE top loader has a little "finger" on the lid , when lid is closed it depress a switch inside a little hole , Now YOU with a wood pencil you turn machine on and press the little switch inside the hole, it may have dropped too low for the "plunger". the washer should start. now tighten the screws for that switch.

SHOULD BE THE LID SWITCH... THERE IS TWO SWITCHS INSIDE, ONE THAT STOP THE MACHINE, AND ONE TO LOCK THE DOOR. YOU SHOULD SEE THERE IS TWO PAIRS OF WIRES THAT CONECT WITH THE LID SWITCH, ONE PAIR IN THE FRONT, AND ANOTHER PAIR IN THE RIGHT SIDE, THAT RIGHT SIDE IS THE PROBLEM, INSIDE THE LID SWITCH MUST BE BROKEN. TRY TO MOVE THE PLATED LOCKING PIN IN THE DIRECTION THAT LOCKS THE DOOR, AND IT MIGHT DRAIN AND SPIN. IF THAT THE PROBLEM, YOU SHOULD GET A NEW SWITCH (MODEL 134101800), AND YOURE DONE.

All dryers have states to control heat GE has a safty stat that is comon problem small round stat at top after removing lid check with ohms meter with wire unpluged if no continuity changed then check venting of dryer inside and out improper venting will cause dryer to over heat
heat element is the next go to same check but must take dryer apart more send model Number we can give you a diagram and location of everthing you will need

Is that a temperature senor in the GE spacemaker Laundry dryer? My dryer stops spinning when it gets too hot. After it cools down, it will spin and dry again.

it's the lid switch or the water fill level switch not completing the circuit to the timer to engauge it

Sorry but NO you cannot seperate the unit.

Hi,
you need to remove the slanted panel between the washer and the dryer. There will be 2 screws holding the top of the washer to the cabinet. Locate the screws on the back edge of the washer top along with the 2 brackets that hold the top.
Once the brackets have been removed, the washer top panel will pull toward you and lift off of the cabinet. You will be able to see the lid switch and test it. If you are testing the lid switch for continuity, remamber to activate the switch while testing. If the switch shows an open circuit, replace the switch.
