Ge uses a glass heater and it is common for the heater to go out replace the heater and it should cure your trouble

Some VCR's have the ability to switch off the RF output. You should look under the tuning menu of the VCR.

Do you have a model # and brand.? 2sc2312, 2sc2166, 2sc1969. 2sc2028 etc.. are common RF transistors. most are discontinued. but can still be found.. MOSfets replacements are available for nearly any radio.. ERF2030's and IRF520's and there are others. but must be a RF style.

Hello John Wood - From what you have describes it sounds like the damper door might be open causing the temperature to be too cold. Use a mirror to look at damper door at the rear of compartment and use a hair dryer on damper door to deice for 5 to 10 minutes. Allow 24 hours and if the temperature is still too cold, then I would have a professional look at the damper door for replacement.

It's been discontinued and and should be replaced.

First, try to use a hair dryer to see if it will seal that way. Then try to let it set all night without opening the door to seal it.

Secondly, look at the hinges to see if they are working properly.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control. Since your heater does come on but not when it needs to I suspect the electronic control.

The Unotron CS5100 range was discontinued some 3 - 4 years ago and replaced with the WS5100 so I am guessing that the one you have would not support Vista.

Have you tried contacting the place you bought it from, maybe they will switch it for you?
