Sounds like the timer could be a issue . or motor running to hot clean all under and behind make sure no dust ..UNPLUG UNIT FIRST ,....

The problem is with the float switch assembly that is bad and needs replacement. A float switch on a dishwasher is designed for one thing, to stop the water flow from the dishwashers water valve. To access the dishwasher float switch regardless of the make or model, 99% of dishwashers are accessed from behind the toe kick panel i.e by removing the front bottom access panel. When the timer or main control call for water, power is sent through the float switch wires, when the dishwasher has filled up raising the plastic mushroom looking piece high enough, the switch will stop power from getting to the water valve. That is the idea behind the switch, to further test this switch with a volt meter you can view this video: Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

do you have the machine set for cold water rinse? if so, the solenoid that allows the cold water to come into the machine may be malfunctioning. try to see if it will fill in the rinse cycle with hot water? if so, you need to change the water inlet valve.

I have a Maytag model A490 clothes washer. It works fine up to the rinse cycle and then shuts down. When it reaches this point it has become necessary to manually advance the dial a short ways whereupon it will fill with water and complete the rinse and spin cycles. This happens on both the regular and the permanent press cycles. What needs to be done to fix this problem?

Filter blocked on the hot fill valve inlet

Solenoid not lifting within the valve

Clean the first

Replace the second

Check lid switch. Most will not run with lid open and the switch may not be pressed down when door is closed

Water inlet valve sounds faulty.
Fill s to slow so it automatically shuts off.

To my knowledge, there are no fuses in a Maytag MDB7600AWQ. Should you be interested, you can reference the electrical diagram here. Exploded diagrams and parts placement are here. Based on these probable causes of no power would be:

• no supply from the outlet, circuit breakers have tripped;
• any of the two (2) door switch is faulty/open;
• defective controller board;
• defective AC cord.

May I ask, have you tried resetting the circuit breakers?

well i am having about the same problem, but mine won't even fill, the dryer works but the washer won't fill or turn on at all. my husband had it all apart, too the control assembly to parts place and they said that hardly ever goes bad so it is still sitting unusable with no answer or money to spend on it in site.
