Is it possible to clean INSIDE the lens of Jason model 192, if so how do u get inside to clean? About what is the model worth?
Tried nothing unscrewed the lens protector (guess that's what it's called) but does not get to the mold that is inside the lens--if u do the leaning--about how much?
Re: Is it possible to clean INSIDE the lens of Jason...
We don't do the cleaning but if there is a camera place near you they could do it. The lens is held in by a ring that takes a spanner wrench to remove.

You cannot clean the inside of the lens. If it must be cleaned, it needs to be disassembled by a Panasonic service center, cleaned, reassembled and re-calibrated, and then returned to you at an enormous cost. You need to determine if it's worth it.
It could be several problems. One is a bad contact between lens and camera body, clean the contacts , check for damage and try another lens if you have one. Try another memory card. Another problem could be with the shutter which would need the camera to be repaired by canon.
First check if the drive is properly recognized and its name displayed in 'My Computer'.
The sound is actually of the head moving back and forth to read data. This is normal. Try cleaning the lens with a cotton bud or a lens cleaning CD. Usually when the drive gets old it stops reading discs due to the laser getting weak but can also happen with a new drive.
Try using know good discs. If warranty is available, avail it.
That seems to be a common problem on this website. Why don't you go to the support section of your camera manufacturer, and e-mail one of their tech guys with the problem...i'm sure they've seen this before and have an answer.
