Question about Kenwood Car Audio & Video
Hi, I have installed a kenwood KDC-BT558u on my truck with a brand new battery and everything was working fine, except the battery died when I left my truck in the garage for 3 days! I checked the power draw and it was drawing 640 mA when the car was off and the key was out. I reinstalled the factory unit and measured the amp again and it was only 10 mA. Can someone please help me to understand why the new Kenwood is drawing over 60 times more power than the factory unit?
Check the wire harness connections, sounds like you have KOER power hooked to KOEO. Or in other words, you have power to the radio with the key off that should connected to key on power

Testimonial: "Thanks for the comments. I thought the yellow wire is 12V and is connected directly to the unit to retain the settings and parameters!Sorry, can you explain again what you meant?"
