i dont think you have a bad bulb but what you might consider is having someone come out to have a look at the tv. if the bulb was bad you just woulnt have that color in the picture,

SOURCE: I have a 50" DLP Samsung that keeps turning off by itself

There can be several causes for this, few of which you can do anything about. However, a few things to try:

1) Replace the batteries on your remote control.
2) Try resetting the logic functions on your tv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in.
3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop.
4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?

I hope this helps. Joe

Hi -- I had this problem a few months ago. I found that if I took the battery out, let the phone rest for a few minutes, then put the battery back in then rebooted the phone. I did this a couple of times then the problem mysteriously disappeared. I hope this helps

Picture keeps freezing

There is a few issues that can result in picture freezing
1: Overheating, keep it in a open area away from other devices
2: Your coax line from the cable company is going bad, if the rest of your TV's in your house are ok then its the one line itself going to that box, it could be an older 59 line or the fitting on the line needs to be changed.

Sony Vega KDF-E5OA10,picture will not come on, tv goes off.

There is a real good chance that the lamp fan is not turning. If you look with a flashlight in the vent on the left side looking at the rear of the set and have someone turn on the unit, see if it spins. if it doesnt, the protect circuit in the tv will not let the set turn on. Replacing the fan will cure the proplem if it is not turning.
Hope this helps,

What is your model number of your set. sounds like the audio output IC has a thermal issue. But need the model number as some Sony standard TVs suffer from bad SBX modules. Post the model number and I will be able to help you properly.
