How can I configure a Samsung TV (6350) remote to control my Onkyo txsr605 volume?

I used the Samsung's built-in 'Source' feature to add the Onkyo but the power test failed to turn off the Onkyo. I manually tried to use all of the Onkyo options that included "605" in the name as well.

Onkyo Codes for Samsung remotes?

Hi, unfortunately this remote does not have the ability to program to your Onkyo receiver. You must use your original Onkyo remote to control the volume of it. If you need a new Onkyo remote you can purchase one from Replacement Remotes. You can also buy a universal remote to program and work for both your units, so you will not have to keep switching back in forth between remotes. If you would like a universal I suggest getting the RFS200, this remote will even work if your receiver is not in direct line of site.

I have tried all DirecTV codes on my Onkyo HT-RC270 remote control and none of them work. Please help!

If you still have the direct tv remote you can make the onkyo learn the codes from the direct tv remote via the Learning mode on the Onkyo Remote.Consult the onkyo remote user manual on how to do this step by step. This applies to remotes that have the learning feature, not all remotes have this feature, consult the manual to see if your remote has this feature.Good Luck

Onkyo remote won't control Samsung components.

I got an Onkyo RC-717M remote control. It is the remote that comes with the Onkyo TX-SR706 receiver. It is a learning remote. When i entered the cde for the Samsung Blu-Ray it did the same thing as the other remotes I got from Onkyo, the pause, next / previous track buttons wouldn't work for the Samsung BD-P3600. I used the learning function of the new remote and programmed it to work. It works ok now but it sure was a hassle to get it done. In fairness i should have called Onkyo support but their support hours don't match my schedule.

Mintex 37 inch wide screen. remote is working however cannot change channel, input source or volum. only turns tv off. The buttone on tv doesnot work connot change input source or volume

Check if the remote is in TV position, that is, because most of the remote controllers have the feature that you can program them for use with another devices. Make shure that one button that says "TV" in pressed and released once before you try to change any function on the TV.

Code for Verizon FIOS remote Control

I have a solution which has worked well for me. It uses the DVD button at the top of the remote. It was a trade-off as none of the codes in the RC144 Philips remote will work any Blu-ray players, so the DVD button was unassigned. The 922, 955 and 977 codes are explained in the directions for the FIOS remote. http://onlinehelp.verizon.net/consumer/bin/pdf/philips%20rc1445302%20user%20guide.pdf
1. Set up your TV button to work your TV.
2. Set up your Onkyo code, pick one to turn on the receiver. I used 3719
3. Use the 9-2-2 code to cycle through all available codes. At about a count of 300 I found one which will turn the Onkyo receiver off. Make sure you start this process with the ONKYO receiver already on. Once you find it press the OK button.
4. Use the 9-7-7 code to power all devices TV, AUX and DVD from the power button.
In this way, each time the power button is pressed it will send both the power on and power off signal to the ONKYO receiver.
This technique works well when you point the remote at the ONKYO receiver and press power button. Apparently the TV has better reception for the signal then the ONKYO does.
