I have a CASIO 2738 G-521D Cockpit watch. I love it and prefer it to my Omega Seamaster. After 8 years the batteries have given up and I went to change them. The manual says battery model SR927W. All I could find were SR927SW. I put these new batteries in - nothing. Youtube videos show that you need to reset by touching one point of the tweezers to the AC point on the watch. Still nothing. What am I doing wrong? Which of the two batteries should I connect to the AC with the tweezers? Is it possible that the SR927SW batteries are the problem?
Hi
SR927SW is the newer version of the SR927W where S (before W) means silver. It is a silver oxide battery. There are no more SR927W in the market.Remove it and put it back in place with great caution, respecting polarity (+ facing up) and the little spring or springs "embeded" on the mechanism.Put a small size watchmakers screwdriver in the hole where AC is engraved and with another little screwdriver try to touch the one in the hole and the metalic frame that covers mechanism in order to "shorten" both parts.Tweezers are not enough sometimes. Then you will notice that the watch will start.I hope this will help.

Happy New Year
Yes. wrong battery possibly...
395/399 = SR927SW/SR927W
The 395 is a lower power output but same voltage (1.5v). The power spike of shorting might have caused a spike in the watch electronics.. make sure they are right polarity too. These batteries are not high current items, but maintain their voltage over the 5+ year lifespan. The S and SW are basically interchangable except for the higher amerage output.

Your Watch is in Auto or demo mode. Hold down the "Mode" button for 3 - 5 seconds and it will return to time keeping mode.

SOURCE: please help me to replace battery on my casio F-91W
This reset trick works with other Casio Alarm Chrono digital watches, such as my old Model W-720, similar to your F91-W. After the new lithium coil cell is installed and secured with the spring clip, the watch may show random segments in the LCD display or may simply be blank. Insert a sewing needle, paper clip, or blade of a small jeweler's screwdriver into the hole on the back of the movement stamped "AC" (All Clear) to momentarily connect the gold plated contact at the bottom of the hole to the stainless steel battery clip. The battery clip in most such Casio watches is connected to the "+" terminal of the coin cell. This will reset the CMOS chip and it should start up with the watch displaying 12:00 and the date at 1-1. Then, use the control buttons to set the time and date in the normal fashion.

Do not lay the tweezers across any contacts as you may damage the watch.
First you need to examine your watch movement and find an AC point (contact). It is embedded on movement. Use an eyeglass, as the writings can be very tiny.
When found, touch an AC point with one arm of tweezers and battery+ with another arm simultaneously.
Some watches needs to do that twice, so, to be sure, do that twice.
If
you are not comfortable with tweezers, you can use a thin wire,
connecting one end of the wire to AC point and another to battery+.
Each shortcut should last for 3 seconds.
Do not forget to rate, please.

Make sure your new battery is not flat and on full power. Sometimes batteries are not fully charged as they discharge over the time and as they are stocked in large quantities, some of them get discharged even they are sold as brand new.
When replacing battery in your watch, make sure you keep the right polarity. Plus and minus must match appropriate contacts. After replacement connect AC and plus side of the battery at once for 2-3 seconds - this will reactivate watch and you will need to set the watch manually.
If you did all this and your watch don't work at all, there is some fault in watch mechanics and you have to look for watchmakers help.
