T6360 dial not working

Turn system off then back on and see if it is working. The manual can be obtained at:
http://historical-products.ecc.emea.honeywell.com/2008_1/pdf/en0r8281uk07r1204.pdf

There is not enough information to give you any more help. What does "Dial not working indicate", the Honeywell T6360b1028 is a heating and cooling thermostat with the potential of having a heat anticipator.

Greenstar 30cdi hot water issue

The problem is not the water heater. The shower has a mixer or a limiter built into the plumbing so that the water wont get hot. It is a safety feature to prevent burns and protect children from scalding.

Does sears kenmore hot water heaters have external filters. pilot light wont stay lit

Not sure about this brand, but if you take a flashlight and look below your burner, you should be able to see the mesh screen if it has one. Or use a hand mirror under the water heater and look with a flashlight to see if it's there. If it's dirty, it will need to be cleaned to stop your pilot outages. If you do, you will need to shut it off and let it cool down before attempting to vacuum it out. Personally, I've found the best way to get to it is by removing the burner assembly, which you may want to hire your gas co to do, if you are not familiar with the appliance. Manufacturers recommend cleaning it every 6 months. Douglas

Timer will not turn water heater ON at set time, has to be done manually. However, it will turn water heater OFF at set time.

If this is new installation, check wiring. Hot and Load wires might be reversed.
Check that ON OFF trippers are both attached to yellow dial.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-WH40.html

If timer worked fine before, and started missing recently, then tripper pins probably worn out.
Trippers contact mechanical lever, and push lever on-and-off.
Trippers are softer metal and designed to wear out before lever.
If lever is worn out, timer needs to be replaced, but try new trippers first.
Buy trippers at Grainger
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/INTERMATIC-Timer-Tripper-2E054?Pid=search
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/timer-accessories/timers/electrical/ecatalog/N-8hi

How WH40 timer works:
Clock motor rotates dial.
ON-OFF trippers on dial contact lever.
ON tripper pushes lever one direction.
OFF tripper pushes lever other direction.
Lever moves electrical contacts together, or pulls contacts apart.
When lever moves on-and-off, manual override lever also snaps back and forth with audible clicking sound.

Using q-tip, add touch of white grease to lever where trippers contact.

My gl4 ariston the only way it will heat water is to reset it . It will heat water til it get hot and then you have to reset it to get the water hot again

Occasionally, the high temperature limit shut off device may trigger and shut the

system down. This occurs when water temperature exceeds 190° F and shuts off

power to the heating element. The shut off device may also trigger from a power

outage or electrical storm.

To reach the thermostat:

1. Pry off the round cover plate (V Fig. 3/1) from its right hand edge (W Fig. 3/1) with

a small flat-head screwdriver.

2. Remove the Phillips screw revealed beneath the round cover plate.

3. The cover (C Fig. 3/1) can now be removed by pulling out its left-hand edge. When

reassembling, work in the opposite way being careful to insert the tongue of the

cover into the slot.

4. Firmly press reset button (B Fig. 4). Reconnect power.

5. IMPORTANT: Check the operation of the thermostat, turn temperature dial from

high to low, if the red light does not go off on low setting, turn off power supply and

call a service person to replace the thermostat.

6. If the system works, place dial setting to desired setting. Note: a lower setting is

more economical and reduces the risk of scalding. Replace cover plate.
CAUTION: Call a technician if the high limit needs to be reset frequently.

Had a power outage and the wh40 is not turning back on

Check and adjust time of day. If the outage lasted long enough, the water may be heated when you go to bed and cool off by the time you need it. Don't attempt to move the pointer! Pull the timer dial away from the box, while holding the dial - twist it in either direction so that the pointer is on the current time of day. Release the dial to it's original (in) position.

You can get the manual here.
