That error code is usually associated with the firewall in the wireless router. If you turn off the router firewall then the Roku should be able to access the Internet to perform the update.

I cannot get the roku to connect to my wifi i cannot remember original password so i am trying to use the guest it keeps giving me a code 011 help

You will have to either remember your password, or reset your wifi back to factory settings and set up a new password. In order to clear the "code 011" error, you will have to hold the reset button down on the Roku for at least 30 seconds to do a factory reset. But, don't do this until you get your wifi password issue squared away first.

I hope that helps.

All network connections are checked but can't connect to Roku receive error message code 011

Please try unplugging the Roku from the electric outlet for 5 minutes, then plug it back and try again.

If no luck, please try resetting the Roku pushing the reset hole on the back or bottom of the Roku for 20 seconds (the Roku must be turned on), and then after the 20 seconds release it and wait for it to restart. It may take like 3 or 5 minutes to restart after the reset.

Then please follow the steps below from your ROKU:
1- Go to the Settings menu, then click "Network"

2- Then you need to select "repeat guided setup"

3- Select the name of your wireless network.

4- Then if prompted, enter the password XXXXX your wireless network. That's it!, it should work now.

If you get an error message here, then probably you are entering the wrong network password. Do you know your wireless network password?

I'm setting up my new Roku and when I get Roku updates it says cannot connect to Roku (error code 011) try later

If you are attempting to setup your Roku player and you see a Code 011 error, this means the Roku player momentarily lost connection to the Roku update server. There may be a chance that Roku servers are not available due to a scheduled maintenance. When this happens, try again after a short period of time. Then just perform a power cycle of the Roku player with the instruction below. You should be able to continue where you left off.
To resolve this do the following:
  • Power cycle the Roku player by removing the power connector from the back of the Roku player. Wait 30 seconds, then reconnect the power. Wait for the player to restart, then follow the on-screen instructions.
  • If power cycling the Roku player did not resolve the error then a network power cycle might.
    • To do this remove the power connector from these devices. (note that your router and modem may be one physical unit)
      • Roku player
      • Wireless router
      • Modem
    • Wait 30 seconds then reconnect the power connectors in this order, waiting 1 minute between each device to allow it to fully boot.
      • Modem
      • Wireless router
      • Roku player
    • Follow the on-screen instructions from the Roku player and TV.
If none of the above steps worked then a reset of the Roku player may be needed. To reset the Roku player:
  • Find the reset button.
    • Examples of where to find the reset button are below.
  • Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds then release.
    • The Roku player will then restart.
