With generators sitting long term not use carburetors tend to get gummed and need a good cleaning and depending how bad this gumming and corrosion is either a carburetor repair kit or carburetor will be needed.

It best to use a good fuel stabilizer in the fuel for short term storage and for long term to shut the fuel flow off and run the generator until it uses up the fuel in the carburetor.

Gas leaks out side of pressure washer

Your washer was sitting for a while I suspect. Check the carb and make sure it is tight to the engine. If it is then you will need to take the carb off, careful not to tear any gaskets. Then remove the fuel bowl and clean out all ports. Make sure to clean out the jet as well as I suspect the fuel is clogged in the carb and overfilling. Your needle valve is stuck open and then flooding your carb and spilling out the side of your engine. Make sure your needle valve and float can move freely before reassembling. Good luck

Troy bilt gas portable generator not producing

First thing to check is to see if the generator is actually turning--couplers sometimes fail. You need some electrical skills and a voltmeter to trace down problems in the generator beyond checking the health of the two brushes that supply current (< 115 volts DC) into the rotor field circuit. You can find wiring and schematic drawings on the Troy-Built web site, just look for the 030248 model. Another person that I worked with had a similar unit with the same problem. It looked like the voltage regulator board was the problem, but haven't heard back if he had fixed it.

Have a troy built pressure washer and the gas is leaking out help

the float is stuck you can either take it apart and clean it or you might get by by just tapping lightly on the fuel bowl on the bottom of the carburator to unstick the float

Troy-Built TB70SS, 1 year old, will not start even after carb cleaning

check to see that the kill button is not stuck in the contacting position, and if it is, try to get it unstuck. WD40 should help. if it's not, then disconnect the kill wires. now try starting it. if it still doesnt start, then the spark generator is bad. if this is the case, you'll need a new trimmer, or have a small engine mechanic replace the generator. i think its called the coil, not sure at the moment it's 4:00 am for me. anyways, whichever is cheaper is best choice.

My troy-Bilt 5550 watt generator will not start

First drain the fuel bowl. Any old fuel in there will keep it from starting. Fuel stabilizer is not what it's it cracked up to be. I've worked for 6yrs at a rental yard and had no luck with any fuel stabilizer, the fuel still went bad. If after you drain the fuel bowl it still will not start, you will need to clean the carb. Remove the carb and spray carb cleaner through all the accessible passages. If this does not do it, you will need to replace the carb. For long term storage I highly recommend draining all the fuel and filling just the carb with fuel stabilizer to keep gaskets moist. Then drain the carb when you take it out of storage.

96 3.0L taurus idles rough other wise runs fine. Head gasket was replaced 7000 miles ago

Intake gasket leak. Vaccum leak. Best way to find out is to put a vaccum guage on the intake and see if it steady at idle if not look for leaks. Map gas around the take from a torch will sometimes help you locate the leak. If there are multiple leaks it may not.
