This is a cab type farm tractor. It seems as though this would be a simple task, but has resulted in quite a problem in trying to remove the dual wiper arms from the front windshield area.

Cannister is your steering box...arm is the pitman arm. check to see if there is a thick alignment spline on either the arm or box. This locates the arm in the correct position. If not center the steering wheel(turn all the way to one side and count turns all the way to other side and divide in half for example, three turns from one side to the other side = 1 1/2 turns to center) and put both front wheels straight ahead, then install arm onto box. It is far easier to put it back than it was to remove.

According to AllData, you don't have to remove the motor to install a new switch. Subsequently, AllData doesn't give direction on wiper arm or motor removal. Here are the only diagrams they give for switch replacement.
SOURCE: The Wiper Arms are rusting. I want to remove them
The arms themselves are bolted down to the car at the base. Once you pop the hood, you should be able to see the bolts, or you may need to pull back the plastic cover to get to the bolts....
SOURCE: only one windshield wiper works
The splined fitting is pressed into the linkage. The fit became loose so that side will not operate correctly no longer. You will need to remove replace the complete linkage

Simple fix:
Use epoxy glue to stick the splines back together. I like to use 'gel epoxy' which is a two step resin/hardener that is mixed together with a stick, and can withstand upwards of 2,000 lbs. of shear force, when applied to a clean and dry surface such as the metal found on windshield wiper blades.
Gel Epoxy will not run like regular 5 minute epoxy, and sets in about 6 minutes. Available at your local Ace Hardware store, or auto parts store, in many cases.
Good luck on this repair.
