To set the time / date stamp you'll need your remote control and you'll need to hook it to a TV with AV inputs. Be sure to correctly select the AV input the camera is plugged into. This is the most overlooked step that causes a lot of users frustration.
I've attached a YouTube video on how to accomplish the time/date setting.
Hi,
Under normal operation the middle bar will be quite warm and under heavy load or higher ambient temperature's sometimes hot, yes it is normal. It is most noticeable following a defrost cycle, new "thawed" item's being placed in the freezer section ( or following someone standing there with the door opened for a lomg time trying to figure out what they want...i.e. my son. lol) and also very hot summer day's.(depending on your geography obvioisly).
It is a means in which the manufacturer's has designed to prevent condensation from building in the area commonly referred to as a "perimeter heater/loop".
Hope that help's and if so please rate the answer you received from me here at fixya.

I had the same problem -red, vertical bars along the right side of my Samsung 42" Plasma- and this is what fixed it: Removed unterminated cable. I had hooked up an HD video camera to the set about two weeks ago. While I disconnected the camera I left the other end of the connector cable plugged into the T.V.. As I've since learned from friends who work in television, this is what's called an "unterminated cable" -meaning one end is unconnected. It can lead to problems with electrical interference and appears to have been the problem in this case; When I disconnected this cable from the T.V. the red bars went away. So, check your cables. Make sure everything is properly connected and get rid of anything that might be picking up interference.
