Terry,
For copying DVD's you have to violate some laws. And in lots of countries you risk punishment when caught. I assume it is legal in your country and will explain some things. (perhaps not everything)
First, not al DVD players are compatible with DVD's you burn yourself. DVD's pressed in a factory, to have a metal coating, making it highly reflective. When you burn a DVD, a dye will be changed from colour, where the laser burns. The reflectivity is much less. Only the DVD players that have a sticker, with DVD -r DVD +r compatible, can play self made DVD's.
Then there is a special format in a DVD. When you open the DVD on a computer, you see two folders, one is called Audio the second is called Video. For a DVD with a film most of the time the Audio folder is empty. In the video folder you find several files, with extensions .VOB and .IF and more.
If you put a .AVI or some other file in the root, you can play on your computer, not one DVD player cam play it.

There are lots of program's around to copy and burn DVD's, but again if your player is not compatible with the self burned disks, it won;t work.

If you have a blue ray player, It will not play copies of copyright material. Try an older not blue ray player.

You must be sure that the file type you are using is supported by the DVD player and that the disk is finalized in order for the player to see the file system properly.

My cd player taked forever to start playing my burned cd

2001, jeep, "new technology on old IRON?"
burned, burned what? did you RIP a CDDA disc to CDR
or burn a bunch of MP3? , my guess you RIPPED it.?

you expect burned CD to work? CDR or CDRW?
if you read the product datasheet for the actual player it will
list all formats that work (few) back then. RBB was zero.
its not weird, it's history,
there are many formats, for CD.
car CD began with CDDA, discs (like sold on the shelf in a store)
those are not file formatted, its track formatted like an an old LP album. (wiki CDDA)
then came file formats. (vast types. MP3 tops.)
there are 3 levels here.
CDR format.
then file types
last music encoding formats(complex)_ask
i can tell you that not all formats are supported on old cars. few to none.
some do SEEM? to work, but are flaky
and after 13years, not at all or more falky, (weak laser, optics dirty)

why not up grade and use USB sticks. ?????
CDs are pretty dead now.

which player, there are many? in dash.?
http://www.wjjeeps.com/radios.htm#AMFMCD

note the lack of CDR play back ( and all others) until 2002.
and even the 2002 is limited.
all car head ends are limited.
for max files.
max folder.s
max files in folder.

just because a CDR pays in a head end that does not support it
means ZERO, as some heads can see some data and attempt to play it blindly, it's just a very dumb headend. (dumb to a fault)

there are endless posts of users trying 100s of ways to fool it
some can,/ most can't (but is not supported so......)

if really curious. post head end ID , like RBB?
we can get the full spec. on that head.

and this,?
http://www.kigmaradioshop.com/servlet/the-46/RBN-RBB-P04858584AE-P04858584AH/Detail

my new jeep supports all these , yours dont
Supported formats are: CDDA, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3,WMA, DVD Video, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, and CDDA+MP3
(this support is progressive from 2002 to present day)

does that help>/?
if not post head end pn. or series class.

Dvd says format unsupported

That just means that the media file type is not supported by your DVD player. Is it a "Burned" disc that you are trying to play, if so there are conversion software programs to change the format to one that will work for your player.

Trying to burn a playlist from my itunes account and get 4261 error message, what does this mean?

Hi there,

The ITunes error 4261 appears when attempting to burn CD's. The error code can appear for several reasons, including a faulty CD-RW, used CD's or a slow speed burner.

The error may also occur when you are trying to burn a file that has Dynamic Random Memory from ITunes & you have exceeded your permitted attempts.

The error can also happen if you are accessing the files from a different PC than where it was registered.

Try slowing your burn speed to 16x or even 12x or use Nero Express or Windows Media Player to burn your MP3 files. Other techniques for resolving this error include using new CD's & activating DLA in the Drive Properties.

I truly hope that one of these solutions clearly resolves your problem. Good luck.

Kindest regards,

Ste

Pc died

Hello, I have had similar problems with that same motherboard in the past and have found that resetting the cmos (see users manual) or just taking the battery of the motherboard for a few minutes can solve this. CAUTION please remove the power lead on your tower before touching any components inside, and earth yourself first by touching metal.. as static discharge kills pc components..
Hope this helps.....

Player won't play CD/DVD

Various issues can cause drives to occasionally balk at writing optical discs. These run the gamut of physical, hardware, and software troubles.

Inappropriate or dirty media may be to blame. Make sure to match the type of recordable disc to the drive, and check each disc for fingerprints or other contaminants. If a disc is dirty, wipe it with a clean, soft cloth in a straight line from the center hole outward. Try a quality optical drive cleaning disc if you suspect dust contamination on the drive’s laser lens.

Some discs don’t perform well with certain drives, even within their rated speeds. Try recording at a slower speed and then with a different brand of disc. Also, on PCs, verify that the temporary file storage area on the hard drive used by the burning software has enough free, defragmented space. Allocate at least 5GB for a DVD (9GB for a double-layer [DL] disc) and about 1GB for CD burning.
