Nothing inside appears to be burnt out. All fuses look good. Looking for a starting place to fix it. Was thinking about the volume pot, but since it went out quickly and not slowly, thinking it might be something else that happens quickly.
How did your remote work before this issue; meaning when you pushed the volume control buttons, did the knob on the receiver turn?
Hello! Increasing or decreasing the volume using the remote control buttons would cause the knob on the receiver to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise in response to how the volume was adjusted.
OK. So, do you have sound now, and does the sound increase if you turn the knob clockwise? If so, the amplifier is certainly not bad. Please disregard the mention of a Rotary Encoder. Your unit is too old for that. It could be anyone of about 50 parts that may be causing this. It obviously has no power to the volume control motor. All depending on how that circuit is designed, I can think of numerous components that can possibly be bad, including poor soldering of the components in the Power Supply.
