Check the damper between the fridge and freezer. It may be broken or frozen open. If this happens and you have a water reservoir in the fridge then it could freeze and crack - leak and then flood your house... Shut off the water supply until you get the problem fixed.

SOURCE: zanussi refrigerator/freezer model ZX99/5

Hi,
I had the same problem...it was a defrost problem in the freezer....mad i know...fridge doesnt work but freezer does...so its the freezer problem right!!!
This is how i solved it....there is fan behind the freezer compartment....you need to remove all the freezer draws then the plate at the back of the freezer compartment(everything is accessible from inside the freezer only) once removed you can put your hand up inside the gap(make sure power is off and unplugged) just in reach is the fan which you should be able to rotate with your fingers...mine was covered in ice and not able to move as a result the cold air couldnt be blown up into the fridge(the only thing controlling the air into the fridge is a flap and depending upon what fridge setting you have this determines how much cold air its letting in.)
If the fan has been frosted up you need to defrost the freezer....and source a new defrost sensor.
hope it helps.

I have a hotpoint fridge freezer FUFL 1810, there is a puddle of water appearing on the kitchen floor coming from underneath the unit any help please ?

its the evaporator try its mounted above the compressor

perhaps the freezer has quick defrosted and the try is too full

use a towel and soak all the water off

check the freezer balast fan is running ok and fast enough {good speed}
or the freezer can reach a state where it just melts a little of the ice monster

so

my adivce is the run your food in it down
then completely defrost it
and you need to clean all the pipes that go too the evaporator tray
and then dress them with salt

they are usually at the bottom of the V shaped channels both at the back of the fridge
and also behind the freezer rear wall
it usualy has a panel with a few screws or pop plastic pins
that allows you too get too the blast fan and the evapoator V shaped channel
that guides the water to the evaporator pipe

so it prob needs something done with the frost free unit
i think its just got too the point its gummed up

with ice and the fan isnt working efficently anymore

Both Lights flashing and fridge not getting cold

I turned the fridge and freezer off using the circular dials, I then turned the unit off at the mains. Left it for a few minutes and then turned the power back on. I then turned the circular dials to "max" and then depressed the super cool and super freeze buttons to turn this facility on. This time they came on normally (not flashing) and no alarm sounded. The fridge and freezer then started to get cold. Once the unit had been running for several hours I then turned the dials to the 3/4 mark and depressed the super cool and super freeze buttons again to turn them off. Over night the fridge and the freezer appear to be working properly so I hope that my problem is solved. Maybe the unit just needed to "settle" before being switched on?

My hotpoint ff187e fridge/freezer keeps bleeping and flashing how can i fix this? it is only 18 months old.

Turn the second knob at the top to off (freezer knob) turn the fridge freezer off. Then turn it back on. That may sort it. Or you may need to totally defrost the machine as there could be some ice blocking some vents. May need to remove the back panel of the freezer for this (inside).
