What needs repair when tv is black & white, makes loud noise?

Your color projection drives are fried. Usually Red, Green, Blue. Cheaper to replace the set than to replace the drives and have the set re-alligned. Unless you have a TV repair guy in the family or who loves food. :)

You are likely to have developed a bad color wheel. Do a search on Ebay with your model number or Google the model number. This will give you a heads up if you get a TV tech to fix the set

Yes,the problem is the colors wheel it dead.That one of the cause by the colors wheel,other are alots of squiling noises and making very loud buzzing sound.The cooling fan that u think is overheating,does it stop sometimes,when the tv is still on?Yes,than replaced it also,no than it still ok.Just hire the tv repairman,the parts he'll take care of it,don't order the parts,u might get the wrong parts or different sizes,that will not fit in ur tv.

does it happen on the any input or just on tv setting?
if it's judt tv then sounds like the tuner, if it's on any input, then the video chip or a decoder on that board.

sounds like a the color wheel blown. Call a local tv repair shop. Some Samsung models carry two different color wheels for same model depending on chassis version which can be seen only when the back is removed.

This TV uses a lamp and color wheel. the color wheel is likely the problem since it is known to make noise over time and will eventually sieze. The repair is in the $400 range.

Hello,This problem denotes a defective color wheel, I would not suggest that you attempt to change it becuse of the risk of causing more damage. It sounds like you have a defective COLOR WHEEL, common problem with DLP's. You need to contact a service comp. for replacement and availability.
