SOURCE: Incompatible Disc in Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-Ray Disc Player
I had the exact same problem as you did... I bought the Sharp Aquos 42D85X which came with Sharp BD-HP21X Blu-ray Disc player. could not get brand new blu-ray movies to play and i found it froze everytime after 10 secs. I phoned sharp who basically were no help watsoever! I then went and returned my blu-ray movies back to the store thinking it was a problem with the discs.. The people there were extremely nice and since they had a display model of the BD-HP21X instore they offered to test the movie on it to veroify whether it was the blu-ray player was the problem or not. Turns out its a fault with all of the BD-HP21X models. So we then ended up returning it back to the store we bought it and exchanged it with the older model (BD-HP20X). I now have no problems playing blu-ray movies. Although another suggestion is to perhaps download the lastest firmware update & see if that resolves your issues.
SOURCE: I've downloaded a firmware update
today i solved following errors on sharp blu-ray hp20 when updating software to play quantum of solace:
can't detect software: due to .rvp file being inside a folder--not in root directory on usb stick
more than one software file detected by player: .rvp hasn't been properly unzipped. the 2 gb disc and, as far as i could tell, my system (imac os 10.5.6) showed successfully extracted SINGLE file ready for transfer to dvd player, but dvd player said that there was more than one file. erased the 2 gb disc with disc first aid utility as part of exercise. also verified FAT format on 2 gb disc. only after i used a downloaded free mac utility *specifically for extracting ZIP files* to transfer the .rpv file to the 2 gb disc did the dvd player recognize the file and i successfully updated the player's software! (sorry for the run on, i think the logic is accurate)
SOURCE: Sharp Blu-Ray model BD-HP20X locked to region 4 how to unlock ?
Well I Checked my data resources and saw that there are no hacks or tricks for Sharp yet... the only thing you can try doing now is to ask your Dealership if they can unlock the regions for you. I've searched everywhere but couldn't find anything for newer models like HDDVD or Blu-Ray players.
Sorry T_T But let's hope someone might be able to help as well..
SOURCE: Need code for included blu-ray universal to work with an Olevia TV
if Samsung never included the brand Olevia on there remote, then its not going to work because it was never design to work with that brand. The only way to get around that is to get a learning remote or universal remote that has olevia pre program into the remote.. Olevia did come out with some learning remotes that is able to learn from other remotes.. the model its called Olevia RC-LRN ..
This company called Amergence Technology sells the RC-LRN remote made by Olevia contact them at this toll free number 866-965-3842
