Get a manual for a central vac Quiet Clean Power head

A powerful vac motor needs lots of air throughput to keep it cool. Some vac motors have a separate air intake and exhaust for cooling air but the majority rely on the same air that passes through the cleaner and sucks up the ash or dirt. These rely on effective filters to keep damaging ash or dirt out of the motor.

While a blocked filter reduces suction and cuts the flow of cooling air, a displaced filter allows ash or dirt into the motor and if early action isn't taken to remedy the situation by cleaning the motor, the life of the motor will be seriously reduced.

Unplug, cut hair on rollers and pull to clean. Remove dust bag and use a bent hanger to pull out the clog from the intake tube, most likely there is paper caught in the hair.

These are usually quiet so the clicking might be an problem. It could just be a dirty ion generator. On this unit you can toss those into the dishwasher. If they are dirty enough the click you hear might just be a spark. If it is sensing this it might be why it is shutting down as well.

I would download and read the manual, clean the unit according to the manual and see if that makes it behave. When these work they are incredible at what they take out of the air. We used a commercial version of this unit in a 13000 sqr foot room and even with a few hundred people who smoked (was allowed at the time) the air remained clear. The ion traps were revolting disgusting when they were cleaned once a week so they definitely pull stuff out of the air.

If you are talking about the metal wheel inside, the only way I have been able to clean it completely is to turn it over, unscrew all the screws, carefully lift it apart, and then you can lift the wheel out. But after you clean it, make sure its completely dry . I usually leave it out in the sun so it drys completely. Then while its out, you can either take a can of the air, like you use to clean computers, or if you have a vac that you can blow air from, or just simply use a soft cloth, brush, whatever you have that can clean it. `its a pain to do, because they def don't mention about how dirty it gets inside there, but honestly I love my purifiers so much, even though its a pain to do, I do it anyway! hope this helps you out alittle!!!
