Well, Your Modem will have the cable wire from the wall going to it... from the modem the wire will go to the "Input" or "IN" line on the router. Then, there should be other ports (about 3 - 5 on most) where you can plug in a cable and connect THAT cable to the computer. Usually, the "IN" wire on the router will be closest to the power wire and/or away from the other ports. Try that and see if it works.

Belkin G ROUTER Wireless. I have Bright House road runner fastest internet server.A Customer Service person told me that the reason for the slow performance of my lap com. including internet performance is...

Yes, that is correct because some router like the one that you have needs a software update if you're having problem with it like a slow internet connection so it will be better to call Belkin tech support and let them walk you through with that firmware upgrade and that will make your connection fast..

Hope that helps........

All started with wireless router (Belkin)

Actually, is does **t really matter what computer *********** in law has or whether she has a computer or **t. Your wireless connection is **t with her computer, it is with the router.

I take it for granted that the router has got a wireless facility , since you said you set it up. Your computer must then also be wireless enabled (internal or Using an USB Dongle).

Set the connection type on the router and your computer as such that there is ** authorization or encryption involved - once you got that working please the ensure that you activate authorization and encryption for security reasons
