Actually you never mentioned make and model of your tablet, but probably you should try a Factory Reset.. The way to do a Factory Reset depend on make and model of your tablet, so try to be more specific.
You did not say which tablet you have. For Ideatab Android tablet, start with battery fully charged and tablet OFF. Press and hold Volume Up and Power at the same time until menu appears on screen. To navigate the menu, use Volume Down to move through the menu choices, Volume Up to select the current menu choice (like an Enter key) and Power button to return to previous menu. On the "Factory Menu", move down to "Clear eMMC" and select that option. You should see a message that data is being cleared. This may take several minutes to complete. Wait for it. When it completes, the tablet should be reset to the way it came from the factory so you will have to set up again user ids, wifi passwords, download apps, etc.
Usually that's when the battery is low but you may also be holding it down too long in frustration, It doe not treat that the same as a short press. Try a quicker one and wait.
